Il nome e il primo logo della compagnia, raffigurante Ursus che afferra il toro per le corna, furono scelti per i valori di forza, perseveranza e sacrificio che evocavano. Sulla scia delle grandi imprese del ciclismo italiano del secolo scorso, i fondatori riconobbero in Ursus l eroe romantico tramite il quale rivivere le gesta di Coppi e Bartali, atleti che scrissero pagine indelebili nella storia del ciclismo mondiale. Il progetto Ursus wheels nasce nel 2002, con il fine di riportare il ciclismo italiano sulla vetta del mondo, seguendo le orme dei grandi del passato: stesso copione, nuovi interpreti.
