Temo Giusto Program Notes Queste Parole d Amore is excerted text rom the traditional Italian song Mamma, immortalized by the legendary Jerry Vale. The title translates as these words o love, and it has been chosen in deerence to my mother, or whom this iece is aectionately dedicated. Being Italian in heritage, I ound that the words o love and admiration exressed in this song made or a erect tribute. In homage o my Italian roots, exression markings and musical terminology in the score have been written in Italian. The iece is essentially a Theme and Variations; however, the theme is resented last. This ractice was inluenced by the English comoser Benjamin Britten in his work or viola and iano, Lachrymae O. 48, in which he extracts his own thematic material rom a John Dowland tune and, over the course o the comosition, gradually reverts to the original.
