CERTIFICAZIONI NEL CAMPO DEI PRODOTTI VERNICIANTI IN POLVERE In questa mia breve presentazione cercherò di indicare le linee guida che sono state alla base dello sviluppo del marchio di qualità QUALICOAT. Il marchio QUALICOAT èstato fondato nel 1986 da 6 nazioni, tra cui l Italia. La struttura organizzativa derivava dall altro marchio di qualità esistente in europa che è il marchio QUALANOD fondato nel 1974, il cui scopo era quello di promuovere l USO DELL ALLUMINIO ANODIZZATO IN EDILIZIA. L Italia era rappresentata dall associazione CIOA mentre dal punto di vista tecnico era rappresentato dall I.S.M.L. Come rappresentante del mondo degli estrusori.

CERTIFICAZIONI NEL CAMPO DEI PRODOTTI VERNICIANTI IN POLVERE Il marchio di qualita QUALICOAT ha mantenuto alcune prerogative della struttura del marchio e ne ha modificato alcune per poter rispondere ad alcune esigenze di mercato che ne hanno favorito anche la crescita. -Il primo importante aspetto è che il certificato QUALICOAT viene rilasciato solo da Zurigo ed èvalido in tutte le Nazioni; -Il secondo importante aspetto è che ogni Nazione deve essere rappresentata da un associazione che ne gestirà il marchio. La politica del QUALICOAT è quella di favorire l associazionismo.

What QUALICOAT does not stand for: QUALICOAT is not Quality Management System ISO 9000, ISO 16949, or QS 9000 quality management systems provide procedures to assure the quality management system of an organisation. ISO 9000, ISO 16949, or QS 9000 Such quality management systems are, however, an asset for each licensee. 15
Independent Testing Institutes Inspection & Auditing Perform the testing required The inspectors themselves are organised in a separate association QUALISURFAL (annual inspector s meeting).
Independent Test Institute All of the test institutes have to be ISO 17025 accredited for the tests stipulated by QUALICOAT. This means that each test and operator is audited and all equipment is calibrated to a traceable national standard.
PROCEDURA PER L OMOLOGAZIONE Il QUALICOAT stabilisce un sistema di controllo delle materie base per ottenere una buona qualità del prodotto finale. Le componenti da tenere sotto controllo sono: -I prodotti di conversione chimica: per raggiungere una buona resistenza alla corrosione (allegato A6 delle specifiche per i prodotti esenti cromo) -I prodotti vernicianti: per avere una buona resistenza agli agenti atmosferici (capitolo 3 delle specifiche). In questa sede esamineremo i prodotti vernicianti. La verifica di una buona qualità in esterno si ottiene con le omologazioni dei prodotti vernicianti.
PROCEDURA PER L OMOLOGAZIONE DEI PRODOTTI VERNICIANTI I prodotti vernicianti per poter essere utilizzati dalle ditte in possesso del marchio QUALICOAT devono essere preliminarmente omologati. UNA DITTA A MARCHIO NON PUO USARE PRODOTTI VERNICIANTI NON OMOLOGATI SU MATERIALE DESTINATO ALL EDILIZIA. Il prodotto verniciante identificato anche per la sua categoria di brillantezza e per la sua classe di durabilità, per essere omologato deve essere sottoposto nei tre colori base RAL 3005-5010-9010 (+ eventualmente il RAL 9006 per i metallizzati) alle prove previste nelle specifiche tecniche del marchio, pubblicate nel sito QUALICOAT.NET, e che sono le seguenti:

PROCEDURA PER L OMOLOGAZIONE DEI PRODOTTI VERNICIANTI All interno dei prodotti vernicianti sono state introdotte alcune classi di durabilità, in particolare la classe 1-1.5 2-3. Nell allegato A10 delle specifiche: A10 Summary of requirements for the approval of organic coating materials (all classes) Sono riportati i metodi di prova ed i relativi limiti di accettabilità per ognuna delle classi previste dal marchio
PROCEDURA PER L OMOLOGAZIONE DEI PRODOTTI VERNICIANTI Se le prove di laboratorio danno risultato conforme alle specifiche si concede un numero di omologazione al prodotto proposto che vale per tutti i RAL per la classe di durabilità 1 (*); la prova di esposizione in Florida è quella che però ne conferma l omologazione. Ogni anno l omologazione deve essere rinnovata e sottoposta alle stesse prove, inclusa l esposizione esterna, su due colori stabiliti dal Comitato Tecnico del QUALICOAT. I criteri per valutare la bontà dei un prodotto verniciante sono indicati nelle specifiche tecniche e si basano sulla variazione di colore e di brillantezza.
PROCEDURA PER L OMOLOGAZIONE DEI PRODOTTI VERNICIANTI Ogni anno un apposito gruppo di lavoro, con sede presso il laboratorio spagnolo DECOTEC a Madrid, esamina tutti i risultati dell esposizione in Florida, dopo adeguata pulizia, e ne discute i risultati con i produttori di polveri ed insieme elaborano una proposta per i Comitati QUALICOAT. Vediamo più in dettaglio alcuni rapporti sui risultati delle prove in Florida.
Prove di esposizione in Florida
2015 Natural weathering test Exposure in Florida is performed according to ISO 2810 The test should start in April. Class 1 coatings Samples shall be exposed facing 5 south for 1 year. 4 test panels per colour shade are required (3 for weathering and 1 reference panel) Class 2 coatings Samples shall be exposed facing 5 south for 3 years with an annual evaluation. 10 test panels per colour shade are required (3 per year for weathering and 1 reference panel). Class 3 organic coatings Samples shall be exposed facing 45 south for 10 yea rs. All the test panels shall be cleaned and measured annually by the laboratory in Florida (ATLAS). 25
2015 Natural weathering test CLEANING METHOD USED: Immersion in demineralised water with a 1% surfaceactive agent for 24 hours, then cleaned by wiping with a soft sponge with tap water applying gentle pressure. This process shall not scratch the surface. GLOSS AND COLOUR MEASUREMENT: The gloss shall be measured according to EN ISO 2813, at an angle of 60. The average is taken from the colorimetric measurements. 26
2015 Natural weathering test REQUIREMENTS: For Gloss: The residual gloss shall be at least 50% of the original gloss for class 1 organic coatings. The following values apply to class 2 organic coatings: After 1 year in Florida : at least 75% After 2 years in Florida : at least 65% After 3 years in Florida : at least 50% The following values apply to class 3 organic coatings: After 1 year in Florida : at least 90% After 4 years in Florida : at least 70% After 7 years in Florida : at least 55% After 10 years in Florida : at least 50% An additional visual assessment will be carried out for - organic coatings with an original gloss value of less than 20 units; - organic coatings with structured appearance in all gloss categories; - organic coatings with a metallic or metallized effect. 27
2015 Natural weathering test REQUIREMENTS: Colour change For class 1 organic coatings the E values shall not exceed the maximum values prescribed by Qualicoat Specifications For class 2 organic coatings: After 1 year in Florida: not greater than 65% of the limits prescribed in the table After 2 years in Florida: not greater than 75% of the limits prescribed in the table After 3 years in Florida: within the limits prescribed in the table For class 3 organic coatings, the E value after 10 years in Florida shall not exceed the limits prescribed by Qualicoat. 28

Gloss Retention of the Florida control panels Values of gloss retention of the Florida control panels from 2006/07 to 2013/14. Here under the values in gloss retention of control panels (the same white panels that QUALICOAT send every year in Florida to get technical information about enviromental conditions that could have an influence on gloss retention and colour change) from 2006/07 to 2013/14. These panels show a possible difference in gloss retention of about 30% of its values in different year of exposure: these means that QUALICOAT could assess as positive degree of correlation the results of accelerated weathering test also if they differ of ± 15% from the results of Florida of 1 only year

FAMIGLIE DI COLORE RAL (WG POWDER)
SCOPE The reason for this initiative is that if a material of manufacturer is failing a RAL colour (for colour change) during the annual recurrence testing after Florida exposure, this is an indication of lack of technology concerning several coloursand notonlythe RAL colourin question. The present Qualicoat requirements state that only the RAL colour failing will be banned. The status of other colours is not affected Increase the quality level of Qualicoat requirements for colour change after Florida exposure introducing the concept of RAL Families. Define RAL COLOURS FAMILIES ONLY for Class 2

Nella mia presentazione ho sintetizzato al massimo i risultati di alcune attività tecniche del QUALICOAT, che è un organizzazione che opera a livello globale. Tuttavia si cerca anche di mantenere un continuo scambio di informazioni a livello locale perché riteniamo che il nostro scopo non sia quello di insegnare alle ditte come verniciare, ma di mettere a loro disposizione tutti gli strumenti per poter rispondere adeguatamente alle richieste del mercato (vedi EN 1090, Sigillanti Strutturali...). Ultimamente è nato il marchio QUALISTEELCOAT sull acciaio verniciato, impostato con le stesse regole del QUALICOAT applicate però alla verniciatura dell acciaio, utilizzandone le parti comuni (tipo omologazione delle mani a finire).
