RPWM001-4 - REV. 1-2013

English INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ALWAYS DISCONNECT THE BATTERY BEFORE THE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 1) Mount the box on a vertical wall. 2) Connect the wires (section area=6mm 2 ) from the POSITIVE pole of the battery to the M1 terminal of the electronic board, interposing an electrical automatic breaker. Connect the NEGATIVE wire from the pole of the battery to the M2 terminal on the electronic board (see the electrical connections) 3) Connect the two wires of the motor to terminals M3 and M4 terminal block on the electronic board. The direction of rotation of the motor depends on the connection of the two wires. 4) Connect the remote control panel to the 6-pin terminal bloc by respecting the numbers of the wires shown on the wiring diagram and on the cable. OVERLOAD CURRENT PROTECTION SETTING It's possible to set the threshold for motor overload with trimmer RV1 on the electronic board; the threshold is adjustable from 25A to 50A (increase with clockwise rotation). When there's a overload current the RED led on the remote panel turns on and the motor stops. The protection will trip after a given amount of time depending on the overload percentage, as indicated in table below MOTOR OVERLOAD CURRENT TRIP TIME 100%< I <112% 5 s I >112% 2.5 ms In case of overload current tripping when the current returns to normal values the unit restarts after 8 seconds. English DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION When the unit is powered the green led on the control panel turns on. By using the potentiometer "SPEED" you can adjust the motor speed from 10% to 100%. The ON-OFF switch allows you to start and stop the engine: once activated the motor runs at the speed set by the potentiometer "SPEED". The direction of rotation depends on the connection of the two cables of the motor to the terminals M3 and M4: if the motor rotates in the direction opposite to that wanted please exchange the two cables. The unit has a protection against accidental starting of the engine at full speed: if at startup the potentiometer "SPEED" is found set at maximum speed, the green LED will flash and it's not possible to turn on the engine. In this case it's necessary to reduce the speed by acting on SPEED potentiometer until the green led is lit continuously and the it s possible to set the speed by using the potentiometer again (protection against full-speed at the start). THERMAL PROTECTION The unit has a thermal protection against excessive overheating. There are two levels of alarm: 1. When the heatsink temperature reaches the first value of alarm the the fan forced cooling of the unit is activated. The alarm expires when the temperature is decreased by at least 5 C below the value; 2. If the temperature reaches the second threshold value the motor is stopped and the the red LED on the remote turns on. RPWM001-7 - REV. 1-2013
