2 FORMAZIONE PER TUTTI I NOSTRI SOCI APRE è sempre più impegnata nelle attività di informazione, formazione ed assistenza per incrementare, con proposte competitive e di qualità, la partecipazione italiana al Programma Quadro Europeo. Avvicinandoci alla fine del 7 Programma Quadro e per rispondere positivamente alle chiamate dei prossimi bandi, richiamiamo la Vostra attenzione sull importanza di una specifica formazione. APRE realizza l attività di formazione con corsi altamente qualificati che si avvalgono della ventennale esperienza sviluppata attraverso il supporto dato ai Soci e la partecipazione a progetti comunitari finanziati in tutte le priorità del Programma Quadro. Nei prossimi mesi, APRE offre ai propri Soci la possibilità di usufruire direttamente presso le loro strutture, di corsi di formazione sugli aspetti tecnico scientifici, legali e finanziari, accompagnati da esercitazioni pratiche. Saranno altresì sviluppati moduli su specifiche esigenze richieste dai Soci. 1

3 IINIIZIIATIIVE APRE (Agenzia per la Promozione della Ricerca europea), è impegnata a fornire informazione, formazione ed assistenza per incrementare con proposte competitive e di qualità, la partecipazione italiana al Programma Quadro Europeo di Ricerca e Sviluppo. L attività di formazione viene realizzata attraverso corsi altamente qualificati che si avvalgono della ventennale esperienza sviluppata da APRE attraverso il supporto offerto ai propri Soci e la partecipazione a progetti comunitari finanziati in tutte le priorità del Programma Quadro. L esperienza diretta di APRE ha permesso di predisporre corsi di formazione con un taglio operativo e dettagliato puntando sulle esercitazioni pratiche e simulazioni. Prossimi corsi si formazione promossi da APRE ROMA, 30 Marzo 2010 LABORATORIO SU COME PROGETTARE UNA PROPOSTA VINCENTE NEL VII PROGRAMMA QUADRO Per essere vincenti in Europa non basta scrivere una buona proposta: bisogna scrivere una proposta eccellente in cui si prendano in considerazione tutti e tre i criteri di valutazione, partendo dall eccellenza scientifica senza trascurare le ricadute e l impatto del progetto, come pure un accurata gestione del management. Il corso è rivolto a partecipanti che hanno già una buona conoscenza degli strumenti previsti nel Programma quadro. Per il programma dettagliato e l iscrizione: ROMA, 15 Aprile 2010 LABORATORIO IDEAS-VIIPQ: COME PRESENTARE UNA PROPOSTA ALL'EUROPEAN RESEARCH COUNCIL (ERC) Il corso intende fornire un quadro generale del Programma specifico Ideas (7PQ), definendone linee di attività ed obiettivi. Della proposta, verranno esaminati i moduli e i formulari per sottolineare gli aspetti centrali che aumentano le possibilità di successo. La figura del valutatore fornirà il punto di vista del Consiglio Europeo della Ricerca e farà capire come strutturare una proposta che corrisponda alle aspettative ERC. Per il programma dettagliato e l iscrizione: Cooperazione con India: opportunità per i soci APRE APRE è lieta di informarvi di nuove opportunità di cooperazione scientifica e tecnologica tra l Europa e l India. Il 12 e 15 Marzo APRE organizzerà due training focalizzati sul tema Salute a Lucknow e in Punjab in due centri di ricerca di eccellenza: Central Drug Research Institute (CSIR) e University of Punjab. Con l occasione sarà possibile presentare ai ricercatori indiani i profili dei nostri soci e le loro potenziali idee progettuali. Gli stessi profili verranno poi fatti circolare elettronicamente tra gli stakeholders indiani e pubblicati sul sito del progetto finanziato dalla Commissione Europea con l obiettivo di facilitare le opportunità di partnership e networking tra ricercatori europei ed indiani. 6 EVENTII Evento JTI Roma, 5 Marzo 2010 APRE per conto del Ministero dell Istruzione, dell Università e della Ricerca, in collaborazione con Confindustria e il supporto di ARTEMISIA e ANEAS, promuove un evento informativo sulle Joint Technology Initiatives ENIAC ed ARTEMIS. Le due JTI si riferiscono ai settori della nanoelettronica per ENIAC e agli embedded systems per ARTEMIS. L evento si terrà il 5 Marzo 2010 a Roma presso il MIUR Sala Conferenze C. La giornata ha lo scopo di presentare il 3 bando delle due JTI e far nascere riflessioni e suggerimenti per la presentazione di future idee progettuali. Roma, 31 aprile 2010 Il 30 Aprile 2010 presso l Auditorium di Roma si terrà la conferenza internazionale European Agricultural Policies Going Global How does Europe integrate global needs in its agricultural strategies, policies and instruments?. L evento è organizzato da APRE, in collaborazione con l Agenzia Regionale per lo Sviluppo e l Innovazione dell Agricoltura del Lazio (ARSIAL), e con il supporto del progetto Bio Circle finanziato dalla Commissione Europea nell ambito del 7 Programma Quadro. La conferenza darà la possibilità di individuare le necessità di sviluppo della ricerca europea nel settore agricolo e permetterà di capire quali sono le strategie da seguire in Europa. The Center has seventy laboratories together with a number of greenhouses, nurseries, and lysimeters. Its facilities include a tissue culture laboratory, biocontrol laboratory, a geographical information system (GIS) computer center, and a satellite receiving station. A number of experimental stations are also affiliated with the Center. The major objective of CLAC is to establish an Agrometeorological network covering the agricultural area including both old and newly reclaimed areas. The network is aiming to study agriculture climate and its changes, in order to avoid extreme losses that may happen in agriculture sector, particularly in the irrigated areas. It also aims at conducting research, training and extension activities related to different application of daily weather data on current and near future irrigation activities. This includes utilization of mathematical models to estimate daily water requirements and other crop management practices. CLAC activities includes avoiding climatic hazard that may affect agriculture, Crop water requirement calculations, providing the mean weather data of different regions in order to calculate water consumption, which is very important to managing the s that irrigate by advanced irrigation systems. Expertise / commitment offered Description of the expertise offered by your CLAC has an automatic weather stations network, which covers more than 36 Agrometeorological stations. The collected data, automatically or manually, is stored on a database and utilized by several models and knowledge based systems. The

22 organization (max char) dissemination of information is done through different mass media facilities as well as a web page. Agriculture decision support system with mathematical and logical models is linked with a Geographical Information System (GIS) in order to provide tools for planning the land utilization and resource management options, GIS unit is utilized to scan the geographic maps, land and water plans, climate maps, as well as different social and economical considerations. CLAC have a wide experience in working with climatic and simulation agricultural models. DSSAT is one of the important simulation crop models that used to conduct many studies in CLAC. DSSAT and climate projection models are main tools used to study the impact of climate change in Egyptian agriculture. CLAC have a good experience with this kind of researches, as a main part of its researching activities.
