Le fattrici e gli stalloni utilizzati sono di linee francesi, di quelle vecchie linee comuni a tutti i grandi campioni come quelle del grande Persik, di Forex, Diarex, Mag Famu, Piruet, migliorate successivamente con linee da corsa come quelle di Manganate (con l utilizzo di Diament du Rolon) Dormane e Kesberoy, per ottenere cavalli più robusti e veloci. Attualmente l allevamento lavora con sette fattrici e due stalloni, il cui connubio, sulla carta, è il meglio che si possa chiedere. Dall anno prossimo si cominceranno a vedere sul campo i primi prodotti di Gothik (Shamione x Persik) che compiranno cinque anni, mentre quelli di Volpone (Valse du Cassou x Kesberoy) ultimo arrivato nell allevamento, compiranno solo due anni, ma già promettono molto bene... Dal 2013 sarà disponibile il seme congelato di Volpone e Gothik. In the year 2001, with Amira s birth a filly by Pretty e Melfik d Alauze, the Orsetta Equine Breeding Center was founded. Mares and stallions here are French; the line is that same one that characterized great champions like Persik, Forex, Diarex, Mag Famu and Piruet. As for Volpone (Valse du Cassou x Kesberoy), newly arrived horse at the center, we consider his two year old offspring very promising... To celebrate its 10 th anniversary, the on-line magazine www. sportendurance.it challenges the world s publishing trends and turns into a paper magazine. This is how Endurance Evo begins, a quarterly magazine that dedicates its 72 glossy pages to the world of endurance. It will speak two languages, English and Italian but it will be through images that it will find its highest and most noble expression. The on-line version remains the most appropriate vehicle for fast and spot news that everyone needs but nobody reclicks. The paper version is more appropriate for stories and photos. Although the world s main editors are disappearing and migrating to virtual realities for economic reasons, Sportendurance.it continues to offer its services to thousands of visitors on the web daily, today it turne into a paper magazine too. A great Mo at Euston Hall BIG MO all ombra di Euston Hall On the 25th of August, HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister, Vice President of the UAE and monarch of Dubai sat, together with his extraordinary companion Madji Du Pont, on the world s roof as winner of the Longines Fei World Endurance Championship 2012. In the wonderful location of Euston Park which stretches over 10,000 acres of woods and arable fields, Sheikh Mohammed and his team wrote a very important page in the Endurance book of records: gold, silver and bronze medal for the individual category and another gold for the team one. Apart from bad weather, this world championship will be remembered as one of the most well organized ever. There were 29 teams from 39 different countries and a total of 147 binomials competing. In a post - ride press conference, Mohammed Esse Al Adhab of the Dubai Equestrian Club declared that all the objectives have been fully achieved: Sheikh Mohammed started to love this sport from his very first race and today his dream to become world champion, came true. He became world champion in the location that in the last three centuries has been considered the home of the Dukes of Grafton. His wife, Princess of Jordan Haya bint Al Husayn and his daughter followed the race and his great performance with immense curiosity and enthusiasm. Big Mo, as his supporters like to call him, completed the 160 km route at an average speed of 22,08 km/hr and successfully finished the last loop at 27,6 km/hr. HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Primo Ministro e Vicepresidente degli Emirati Arabi Uniti nonché emiro di Dubai, lo scorso 25 agosto in Inghilterra, si è seduto sul tetto del mondo insieme ad un incontenibile Madji Du Pont mettendo la firma sui Longines FEI World Endurance Championships 2012. All interno dei 10.000 ettari di boschi e campi coltivati della tenuta di Euston Park, ha scritto, insieme alla sua squadra, una pagina storica per l endurance: oro, argento e bronzo per l individuale ed ancora oro a squadre. 147 i binomi partiti, 39 paesi con 29 team rappresentati, questi i numeri espressi dalla straordinaria esperienza vissuta in una delle manifestazioni mondiali meglio organizzate, maltempo a parte. Mohammed Esse Al Adhab del Dubai Equestrian Club ha dichiarato che tutti gli obiettivi sono stati raggiunti, e continua Sheick Mohammed ha amato l endurance sin dalla sua prima gara. Oggi ha centrato e realizzato il proprio sogno, diventare Campione del Mondo. Lo ha fatto nella casa che da più di 300 anni è appartenuta ai duchi di Grafton, in compagnia della moglie, la Principessa di Giordania Haya bint Al Husayn e sua figlia che hanno seguito incuriosite le fasi finali della sua straordinaria prova. The Big Mo, come viene chiamato dai suoi sostenitori, ha chiuso i 160 km. mondiali con un tempo straordinario ad una media totale di 22,08 km/h di media totale e percorrendo l ultimo loop a 27,6 km/h. Alle sue spalle con l argento ed il bronzo al collo, dopo due ore circa di distacco, sono finiti rispettivamente Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum su Yamamah e Ali Ahalfan Al Jahouri su Vendaval. Finisce quarta la grandissima spagnola Maria Alvarez Ponton ed il sempreverde Nobby, che in carriera ha collezionato due titoli mondiali, nel 2010 in Malaysia e nel 2011 in Kentucky. Al termine della gara lo Sheicco dell endurance dichiara: io ho piacere a correre in gare di endurance, corro perché amo i cavalli, senza cercare il risultato a tutti i costi. A full two hours later, silver and bronze medal reached the finish line: Sheikh Rashid DalmookAl Maktoum riding Yamamah and Ali Al Jahouri on Vendaval. Fourth place went to the great Spanish rider Maria Alvarez Ponton on her timeless Nobby, winner of both Malaysia 2010 and Kentucky 2011 World Championships. After the race, Big Mo, Sheikh of World Endurance declared: I love to compete in endurance races because I love horses, result is not so important although today we are the winners. Madji made a wonderful performance, it s been a perfect day and I m really happy for myself and for the team. For the team category, France won silver medal and Oman bronze. Christophe Pelissier, the French team vet was satisfied of the results obtained under the lead of the chef d equipe Benedicte Emon Bon: Ours is a great team; with silver we reached a good target but we want to improve and aim at gold medal. As far as the organization is concerned, this has been one of the best world championships ever. The great surprise was Oman s bronze, definitely deserved by its well trained riders and horses. The chef d equipe Sinan Al Abri declared: our medal must be shared with the French team that, with its horses, represents, for all of us, an example of great strength. Our efforts have paid off! Unlucky championship for the Italians It s been a year of great changes for the Italian team therefore the expectations for the 2012 Endurance World championship weren t too high, nevertheless, nobody awaited such unlucky outcome. Italy s riders and horses had all the basis to make it but just a few days before the championship, the two leading horses bred by La Bosana, Eureka and Pervica got injured. Angela and Diana Origgi couldn t heal, with their tears, the horses that could have made the difference in the competition. At this point, Giovanni di Battista, Denis Pesce and the Italian vet Daniele Gagliardi chose the best team possible. The recruitment criteria was based on horses and riders experience and past results. The selection was made on a small number of horses. The stable decided to change the ini- Team Italia ph. tial race strategy, instead of staking everything on a couple of horses, the decision was to send one or two horses ahead followed by the team horses at an average speed of 17 km / hr. The objective was to try to keep pace with the best teams, at least with the European ones, like Belgium for example that ended up being fifth. Till the third vet gate everything proceeded according to plans but then, suddenly, something changed. Great disappointment for the Italian supporters after the elimination of three binomials: Simona Garatti / Badr dell Orsetta and Emanuele- Fondi / Shanandoa River for the team category and Elena Bertoni / El Jamila competing as individual. Just when all hopes were lost, the three remaining binomials seemed to be recharged and continued their race with renewed strength and winning desire. When the fifth loop was completed and the horses stopped for vet respection, it started raining cats and dogs. At this point, the organizers decided to halt the race for the rid- Team Italia ph. Adele Fondi Madji è stato super, una giornata perfetta, sono davvero felice per me e per la squadra. L argento e il bronzo a squadre sono andati alla Francia ed a sorpresa all Oman. Christophe Pelissier, team vet della Francia ha espresso tutta la sua soddisfazione per il risultato ottenuto sotto la guida dello chef d equipe Benedicte Emon-Bon. Il nostro è davvero un grande team; l argento è un grande obiettivo centrato, ora vogliamo migliorare ancora puntando all oro. Dal punto di vista organizzativo è stato uno dei migliori Campionati del Mondo che abbia mai visto. La vera sorpresa è stato il bronzo dell Oman, scaturito da un lavoro importante fatto sui cavalieri ma soprattutto sui cavalli. Lo chef d equipe Sinan Al Abri dichiara apertamente che il metallo vinto deve essere condiviso con la Francia: abbiamo deciso di imparare dall esperienza dei francesi e dalla forza dei loro cavalli. The binomials Carlo di Battista / Fluminio, Melania Serioli / Cala Gonona (team category) and the binomial Alfonso Striano / Waligora (individual category) made it onto the ranking list. Giovanni di Battista declared: It was terrible to hear, just a few days before the championship, that the two leading horses were injured and it was disappointing to witness the elimination of Shanandoa and Badr, but it was even more bitter to see how the remaining binomials, in excellent conditions, didn t have the chance to run the last loop. Probably we could have caught up in the ranking but we surely couldn t have made a winning position, at that point the team was definitely already compromised. The President of the Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports, Andrea Paulgross, supporter and lover of show jumping and endurance, declared with great peace of mind: starting from tomorrow we will put the basis for a new endurance, a discipline that must develop and grow nationally and internationally speaking, strong of our equestrian culture and tradition. Un campionato del Mondo sfortunato per l Italia È stato un anno di cambiamento per l Italia e come tale non si nutrivano grandi aspettative per il mondiale. Certo è che un verdetto così pesante nessuno lo aspettava. Le possibilità di ben figurare c erano tutte, almeno sulla carta, la stessa che ha girato le spalle ad una squadra privata, a pochi giorni dall evento, dei due cavalli di punta targati Bosana, Eureka e Pervinca. Non sono bastate le lacrime di Angela e Diana Origgi a sistemare gli infortuni dei due cavalli, soggetti che avrebbero potuto fare la differenza sul campo. I tecnici Giovanni di Battista e Denis Pesce, unitamente al vet azzurro Daniele Gagliardi, non si sono persi d animo scegliendo la miglior squadra disponibile. La scelta è avvenuta su un numero di cavalli non elevato e si è basata, oltre che dai risultati ottenuti nell imminente passato, sulla maturità dei soggetti e sull esperienza dei cavalieri. L ordine di scuderia, prima della doppia debacle, era provare a mandare avanti uno o due dei cavalli mentre gli altri del team avrebbero dovuto mantenere un passo costante attorno ai 17 km/h. Best horse performance MADJI DU PONT: 12 year old Arabian horse, son of Tidjani hn. After the qualifying stages he started off with a 160 km race that didn t go too well. The horse competed in two CEI** endurance races in the UAE and then started collecting one success after the other: the 2012 Numana CEI*** and the Longines World Edurance Championship. YAMAMAH: his first name was Kurrajong Concord. This bay Arabian horse was born in Australia in 1999 and competed in six 160 km races. He ranked first place in two of these: Dubai (April 2012), ridden by HH Sh. Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Euston Park (June 2012) ridden by Sh. Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum. VENDAVAL: there are no words to describe this wonderful 10 year old bay that last year in the UAE ranked first place in the CEI**J/YR World Championship. Martin Stirling from Uruguay introduced the horse to a competitive level. This year in Euston Park he was ridden by Ali khalfan Al Jahouri. Nobby, 17 year old, twice world champion and twice European champion horse ridden by the wonderful Spanish rider Maria Alvarez Ponton. IKLAND: Euston Park World Endurance Championship best condition horse. Despite his age, 8 years old, he already competed in three CEI***. He collected two victories and ranked 9th place in Euston Park last year. Ridden by the Spanish rider Luke Alex Moral, hès considered a promising future champion. 16 SPORT ENDURANCE EVO
L idea era tentare di essere con le migliori squadre quantomeno europee, magari dopo il Belgio poi finita quinta; passati al piano B, fino alla fine del terzo cancello, tutto filava come da copione ma dietro l angolo andava prendendo forma un disegno ben diverso per i nostri. 3 eliminazioni repentine hanno gelato il sangue dei presenti e di tutti coloro che da casa facevano il tifo per l Italia che comunque procedeva unita alla media di gara stabilita. Il verdetto è stato emesso, fuori Simona Garatti/Badr dell Orsetta ed Emanuele Fondi/Shanandoa River entrambi in squadra ed ancora Elena Bertoni/El Jamila che correva a titolo individuale. A speranze svanite, come per incanto, i tre binomi rimasti hanno ripreso la marcia dimostrando freschezza e possibilità di recuperare posizioni lungo il percorso. Arrivati alla respection veterinaria del loop numero 5 erano pronti per ripartire di slancio quando, a fermare decisamente la corsa, non solo la loro ma di tutti, ci ha pensato Giove Pluvio scatenando una vera e propria tempesta su Euston Park. Gli organizzatori senza indugi hanno fermato la gara per salvaguardare la salute dei cavalli e dei cavalieri, confermando la posizione in gara dei partecipanti al penultimo anello. Dunque in classifica sono entrati, Carlo di Battista/Fluminio e Melania Serioli/Cala Gonona per il team e Alfonso Striano/Waligora per l individuale. Oltre il rammarico delle due perdite delle Origgi e l eliminazione a freddo di Shanandoa e Badr del team dichiara il tecnico Giovanni di Battista resta l amarezza per i binomi rimasti in gara che, sotto gli occhi dei presenti, sono ripartiti per gli ultimi due loop in reali ottime condizioni. Il giro finale non abbiamo avuto l opportunità di percorrerlo; avremmo recuperato parecchie posizioni anche se non sarebbe bastato a far rinascere una squadra ormai compromessa. Il presidente della federazione Italiana Sport Equestri Andrea Paulgross, appassionato praticante del salto ostacoli, col tempo si è innamorato dell endurance e con estrema serenità, appreso del risultato, ha dichiarato: la programmazione, che dovrà cominciare domani e non tra qualche mese, potrà soltanto fare crescere il gruppo d interesse nazionale. Sono certo che potremmo dire la nostra, nel prossimo futuro, anche sul piano internazionale. Abbiamo le giuste conoscenze, la tradizione e la cultura equestre dalla nostra parte, qualità queste che possono proiettarci in alto. SPORT ENDURANCE EVO 17

In memory of the positive 2009 World Championship of Young Riders experience in Babolna, Hungary, the capital of the Shagya Arabian horse, hosts a new Championship for 7 and 8 year old horses. After the extraordinary French experience in Compiègne, Hungary lived up to the expected standards, organizing an event which is worthy of a successful kermesse. Next year it will pass the baton to Italy for the 2013 edition that will take place in Valeggio sul Mincio near Lake Garda. On the 10 th of July the binomials of 15 different countries met at Babolna State Stud Farm: Bahrain, France, Poland, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Norway, Estonia, Austria, Argentina, Spain and Belgium. Bahrain s flag proudly flattered in the air, symbolizing the two CEI** victories for both categories, 7 and 8 Il Bahrain domina e l Italia si colora d argento Dopo la positiva esperienza vissuta nel 2009 a Babolna in Ungheria, quando andarono in scena i Campionati del Mondo Young Riders, la capitale dei cavalli puro sangue arabi (PSA) Shagya torna a far parlare di sé ospitando i Campionati riservati ai cavalli di 7 ed 8 anni. Raccolto il pesante testimone dalla location di Compiègne in Francia, l Ungheria è stata capace di organizzare un evento degno di una kermesse di così alto valore dunque pronta a cederlo all Italia; l edizione 2013 infatti si disputerà a Valeggio sul Mincio, sulle sponde del Lago di Garda. year old horses. HH Sheikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa topped the 7 year old category riding Dhab (5 hours, 31 minutes and 10 seconds at an average speed of 21.741 km / hr). Jaffer Mirza on Uszko S Hotelhoge ranked first position in the 8 year old championship, covering 130 km in 5 hours, 44 minutes and 15 seconds at an average speed of 20.918 km / hr. The Italian team met with great success winning silver medal in the 8 year old category, thanks to the riders Yari Perrotti, Giampiero Ricci and Stefania Faccia positioning, respectively 5th, 6th and 9th place. Thanks to Bantam Bosana, Forresth, Lizr la Lizonne, Marneve and Estero, Italy sighs with relief tasting a future of new hopes for Italian endurance. Giovanni Di Battista, the Italian Senior Team coach, took care of the riders following a strategy that proved to be winning. Definitely a great satisfaction for both team and coach! The best result in Babolna was achieved by Patrizia Giacchero, together with the performance of Bantan Bosana and of the rider Yari Perrotti who won the CEI3* in Vittorito (Aq) and riding the previous year in the Sacile CEI2* with an average speed at more than 20 km/h. Patrizia Giacchero, the popular Italian rider, achieved great results with the horse Marneve from Sardinia, Bonorvesu, ranking fifth place. The rider declared: We are really satisfied with the results. Marneve was welcomed in our stables three years ago. The owner and breeder of the horse, Giuseppino Marras, planned with us a strategy suitable for competing in the World Championship for 7 year old horses. The strategy proved to be successful considering today s results. If Italian endurance wants to develop and become internationally renowned, it must follow a specific and long term planning. This is what we were up to and the result turned out to be very good: abroad we registered best binomial average speed on a 120 km distance while in Italy we recorded third best average speed. Not bad for a 7 year old horse!!
