1. MOUNTING PROCEDURE The following procedure requires a careful cleaning and degreasing of all the parts before starting to reassemble the unit. A properly cleaned bench with a vice (with aluminium alloy jaw guards) and a good lighting are also mandatory. Standard workshop tooling, filtered hydraulic oil and filtered grease must be available. 1. Mount tapered roller bearing (4) on shaft (1). To do so, the bearing must be heated at approx. 80 C on an induction heater, then mounted on the shaft (1) until its inner race touches its beat. Mount the outer race of the bearing (4). Insert spacer (8), bearing (7), spacer (36) and shims (40). Mount circlip (9) into its seat on the shaft (1). WARNING: the number ant total thickness of the shims (40) must be such that a correct preload of tapered roller bearing (4) is achieved. 5 Nm +/- 1 Nm required rotating torque can be used as a reference value for the required rotating torque of the kit after the bearings are preset. 2. Clamp the shaft (1) in the vice on its end, with the piston seats up. Lubricate the piston head seats with oil. Mount the pistons (6) on the retaining flange (2) and all on the shaft (1). Screws (5) must then be added and torqued (see tightening torques charts at the end of this manual). WARNING: prior to each reassembling procedure, a medium strength thread locking agent must be used on the screws (5). (e.g.: LOCTITE 243). 3. Check that the pistons can move freely. If not, disassemble the retaining flange, clean the pistons heads and the seats and repeat procedure as per point 3. 4. Mount pin (37), spring (26) and spacer (17) on central pivot (13). Mount circlip (41) into its groove on central pivot. Insert the above mentioned assembly inside the cylinder barrel (16) central bore. 5. Lay the cylinder barrel assembly as per point 5. On the bench, with the central pivot spherical head up. Lubricate the piston bores with oil. Insert the pistons of the rotating kit as per point 3. Inside the bores of the cylinder barrel assembly. Check the free movement of the rotating kit assembly obtained. 6. Clamp the motor casing (10) in the vice, with the bent side up. 7. Insert the rotating kit as per point 2. Inside the motor casing (10). 6.
Insert spacer (35) into motor casing (10). Mount lip seal (22) and O-ring (23), on front cover (12), and lubricate them with grease. Mount the front cover assembly on the motor casing (10). 9. Mount the circlip (21) into its seat on the motor casing (10). 10. Pull the rotating kit out, cover (12) touches the circlip (21). To do so, a push rod puller or a sliding hammer puller (screwed on shaft end thread) can be used. 11. Lubricate with oil the spherical side of the port plate (19). Mount the port plate (19) with its central hole on the central pivot (13) rear end, centering it inside the casing (10) rear bore. 12. Mount pin (14) into its seat in the rear cover (11). Mount the paper gasket (15) and the rear cover (11) on the motor, centering pin (14) into its bore in the port plate (19). Screw in the (33) and (34) screws. Tightening torques in charts below.
