10 Identified needs CAE, Virtual prototyping, process simulation and the like are nowadays recognised as one of the driving forces of the necessary methodological innovation for enterprises to maintain their competitive edge in the marketplace. Full maturity of technologies Extensive use in many industrial sectors This generates a demand for high qualified professionals At the same time, training requirements get more stringent while the academic and the specialised post-graduate training sectors are challenged to provide appropriate solutions to a rapidly changing industrial and technological environment. 10

12 TCN mission The creation of a set of cultural values within the industrial environment, able to enhance concepts such as know how to apply and know how to get applied, and the integration of the technological vision with the commercial-managerial skills. After all, what do we know now that we didn t know ten years ago? That learning and knowledge are the result of multiple, intertwining forces: content, context, and community. The key? 27 International TCN-CAE conference TCN-CAE 2003 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CAE AND COMPUTATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES FOR INDUSTRY 2nd - 5th October 2003 FORTE VILLAGE RESORT BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE TCN-CAE 2003 is a high-level, definitive conference focused on improving quality of industrial design and production processes through intelligent application of up-tp-date CAE and computational technologies: a unique forum in which real-world cases - successes and failures - are presented and discussed from a business-value perspective. The conference will bring together those responsible for CAE and simulation strategies from the automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment and consumer products manufacturers, as well as technology providers, universities and researchers to explore ways in which to: integrate virtual prototyping accross multiple disciplines including mechanics, dynamics, CFD, crash, durability and fatigue, acoustics, process simulation, control systems and more, qualify and quantify the value of computational technologies, begin virtual prototyping early in product design, manage virtual prototyping across the supply chain, integrate and manage tradeoffs between simulation and test and measurement, assess the business case for investing in computational technologies, quantify the cost-benefit of high performance computers, overcome barriers to data sharing and interoperation. 27

30 Services Sixth International Seminar on EXPERIMENTAL TECHNIQUES AND DESIGN IN COMPOSITE MATERIALS VICENZA th June 2003 The application of composite materials in structural industrial components of large volume production is strongly growing year by year due to both increase in the demand and continuous improvements in the manufacturing processes associated to the reduction of the production cost. This highlights the need of reliable tools for an effective and safe design of composite components. For the complete and proper exploitation of composite materials further efforts are therefore required and the seminar aims to give a contribution in this direction, representing first of all a forum for researchers, scientist, engineers and designers, both of academic and industrial field, for exchanging ideas, proposing new solutions or even to put on the table questions still open. The development of design procedures, the integration between testing, design and process are therefore among the subjects expected to be discussed during the seminar. 31 The TCN network Tecnologie per il Calcolo Numerico :: Centro Superiore di Formazione THE TCN NETWORK TCN NETWORK ALLIANCE AGREEMENT link to other training organisations with similar background and purposes with complementary curricula This Alliance Agreement ("Agreement") is made effective as of, 2003 (the Effective Date ) between: TCN Tecnologie per il calcolo numerico, Training Center S.c.a.r.l., a company incorporated under the laws of Italy, with its registered offices in Trento, Via Malfatti, 21, fiscal code, registered in the Company Register, represented by ( TCN ) and [Member], a company incorporated under the laws of, with its registered offices located in, represented by (the Member ) Throughout this Agreement TCN and Member may be individually referred to as a Party and collectively as the Parties. RECITALS A. WHEREAS, TCN was created for the purpose of promoting the development and dissemination of Numeric Simulation methods, process and data with a view to their application in engineering and industry ; B. WHEREAS, TCN specifically plans to engage in the following: 1. Organize and deliver its own Master-level programs highly focused on the use of leading edge numerical simulation software; 2. Organize and deliver, as part of its own curriculum, as well as customized sessions for interested third parties, specialized courses and seminars geared at strengthening existing capabilities of the participants and at training them into the latest methods and processes in the field of numerical simulation; 3.
