Mi trovo qui per celebrare domani l anniversario della partenza della Spedizione dei 1000, ma credo che le visite di oggi, a cominciare da questa, non siano un fuori d opera, perché in fin dei conti celebrare il 150 anniversario dell Unità d Italia significa diverse cose. Significa verificare da dove veniamo, ma anche dove siamo arrivati e dove andiamo e quando si visita l Ansaldo si vede che di strada ne abbiamo fatta tanta e siamo arrivati molto lontano e se oggi possiamo tenere con dignità il nostro posto nel mondo che cambia è proprio grazie a come si è lavorato e costruito in grandi centri di produzione industriale e in generale in grandi centri produttivi del Paese. È con queste parole che il Presidente della Repubblica Giorgio Napolitano ha ringraziato i vertici di Finmeccanica e di Ansaldo Energia per la visita allo stabilimento di Genova Campi di martedì 4 maggio 2010. Welcomed by Finmeccanica Chairman and CEO Pier Francesco Guarguaglini and by Ansaldo Energia CEO Giuseppe Zampini, the Italian President began his visit by greeting students from the city s main secondary schools and company personnel. He was then shown round an exhibition of photographs from the Ansaldo Foundation s archives portraying over 150 years of the company s industrial history. Mr. Napolitano then went on to meet trade union representatives and pay tribute to the memorial column for Ansaldo

L anno 2009 è stato caratterizzato dalla profonda crisi economico-finanziaria che ha determinato un andamento negativo di quasi tutti gli indicatori economici (prodotto interno lordo, produzione industriale, produttività, deficit e debito pubblico) delle maggiori economie del mondo. Il settore dell energia ha evidenziato una riduzione dei consumi con una conseguente contrazione della domanda di nuova capacità pari a circa il 50% dei valori record registrati del 2008 oltre ad una forte pressione sui prezzi. In uno scenario come quello sopra descritto il Gruppo Ansaldo Energia ha avuto l indubbio vantaggio di poter fronteggiare la crisi con un importante portafoglio ordini che non è stato intaccato da significative cancellazioni o interruzioni. In tale contesto i risultati consolidati del 2009 del Gruppo Energia, sia economici che finanziari, sono da ritenersi positivi. ANSALDO ENERGIA 14 POWERGEN EUROPE 2010 IN AMSTERDAM Anche quest anno Ansaldo Energia ha partecipato al PowerGen Europe. L edizione 2010 si è svolta dall 8 al 10 Giugno al quartiere fieristico RAI di Amsterdam ed ha riscosso un notevole successo in termini di pubblico, con circa 13.000 presenze. Condotto quest anno da Paolo Bonolis insieme a Caterina Balivo, l evento è stato un coinvolgente susseguirsi di momenti diversi: dalla testimonianza del tenente colonnello Marco Lant, comandante della pattuglia acrobatica delle frecce tricolori che festeggia quest anno 50 anni, all incursione sul palco di diciassette ciclisti, partecipanti alla maratona di beneficenza Home to Rome Cycling Challenge, e che hanno percorso oltre 1600 km, attraverso 4 nazioni. Un impegno sportivo e di solidarietà che li ha visti protagonisti per 14 giorni di un avventurosa corsa da Luton a Roma. 19 STELLE AL MERITO DEL LAVORO 2010 Nella cornice del Salone delle Compere di Palazzo San Giorgio a Genova, sede dell Autorità Portuale, si è svolta, Sabato 1 Maggio 2010, in occasione della Festa del Lavoro, la consueta cerimonia della consegna della Stella al Merito del Lavoro ai lavoratori liguri che si sono distinti per particolari meriti di professionalità, condotta morale e che, nell esercizio delle proprie funzioni, hanno dimostrato una particolare attitudine al lavoro. Le decorazioni sono conferite con decreto del Presidente della Repubblica su proposta del Ministro per il lavoro. Alla presenza di numerose autorità civili, militari e religiose tre dipendenti sono stati insigniti di questa prestigiosa onorificenza e possono quindi fregiarsi del titolo di Maestri del Lavoro: sono Marco Baruzzi e Giancarlo Rollandi di Ansaldo Energia e Cosimo Garofalo di Ansaldo Nucleare. La decorazione della Stella al merito del lavoro consiste in una stella a cinque punte in smalto bianco, al centro è in smalto color verde chiaro e reca sulla faccia diritta un rilievo in argento dorato, raffigurante la testa d Italia turrita e sul rovescio la scritta Al merito del lavoro con l indicazione dell anno di fondazione (1924). ANSALDO ENERGIA 20 FORNITURA ANSALDO ENERGIA PER LA CENTRALE DI SYLHET IN BANGLADESH ANSALDO ENERGIA FOR THE SYLHET POWER STATION IN BANGLADESH Ansaldo Energia ha finalizzato un significativo rapporto di collaborazione con la cinese Shanghai Electric Corporation (divisione EPC), già entrato in vigore a tutti gli effetti, per la fornitura di un turbogruppo a gas che verrà installato in Bangladesh nell impianto a ciclo semplice di Sylhet con potenza nominale di 150 MW. La fornitura comprende una turbina a gas tipo AE 94.2 ed il relativo generatore elettrico completi di sistemi ausiliari, che verranno montati e messi in servizio da Shanghai Electric Corporation sotto la supervisione di Ansaldo Energia. Durante i primi due anni di funzionamento dopo la consegna dell impianto Ansaldo Energia fornirà i servizi per la manutenzione programmata ed i ricambi necessari per mantenere in perfetta efficienza la fornitura. Ansaldo Energia has officialised a major cooperation relationship with the Chinese Shanghai Electric Corporation (EPC division) - which was in fact already in effect to all intents and purposes - to supply a gas turbine set for installation in the single cycle Sylhet power plant in Bangladesh (rated output 150 MW). The supply comprises an AE 94.2 gas turbine and the relative electric generator, complete with auxiliary systems, which will be assembled and commissioned by Shanghai Electric Corporation under the supervision of Ansaldo Energia. During the first two years of operation after the delivery of the plant, Ansaldo Energia will provide scheduled maintenance services and the spare parts needed to keep the turbine in perfect working order. The end customer and future operator, Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), has set a very tight delivery schedule, with the completion of the project planned for the end of 2011. ANSALDO ENERGIA 22 ANSALDO ENERGIA SI AGGIUDICA UN ORDINE PER 60 MILIONI DI EURO IN IRLANDA DEL NORD (REGNO UNITO) ANSALDO ENERGIA SECURES ORDER WORTH EURO 60 MILLION IN NORTHERN IRELAND (UK) Ansaldo Energia ha ottenuto un notevole risultato in Irlanda del Nord, aggiudicandosi un ordine del valore di 60 milioni di Euro. L ordine è un Accordo di Servizio a Lungo Termine per Premier Power Limited, una società controllata da BG Group, un leader mondiale nel settore del gas naturale e proprietario della Centrale Elettrica Ballylumford in Irlanda del Nord. Ansaldo Energia has achieved a significant result in Northern Ireland by securing an order worth Euro 60 million. The order is a Long Term Service Agreement for BG Group company Premier Power Limited, a world leader in the natural gas sector and the owner of the Ballylumford Power Station in Northern Ireland. Under the terms of the contract, Ansaldo Energia will provide spare parts and maintenance for the entire Power Station - comprising two AE94.2 gas turbines, one AE64.3A gas turbine, two steam turbines and the relevant generators - for the next nine years, including the reconditioning or replacement of some key gas turbine parts. This contract in the UK was won after an international bid in this highly competitive market and lengthy negotiations regarding many technical and commercial issues. The factors contributing to the contract award to Ansaldo Energia were the price offered and the flexibility shown by the company in order to satisfy the requirements of the customer, but most importantly the good quality performance achieved in recent maintenance work. Despite the highly demanding customer and the general economic crisis, the Genoa-based company has been able to establish and build a strong relationship with Premier Power Ltd and BG Group to achieve this winwin agreement. The customer has recently expressed its great satisfaction at the good performance delivered by the Ansaldo Energia Service team, which was especially appreciated as there was no LTSA in place, and therefore with this contract it has renewed a decades-long relationship of trust and cooperation. Questo contratto nel Regno Unito è stato ottenuto in seguito ad una gara d appalto internazionale, nel mercato più competitivo e dopo una lunga trattativa su molti aspetti tecnici e commerciali. I fattori che hanno influito positivamente ed hanno permesso ad Ansaldo Energia di aggiudicarsi il contratto sono stati il prezzo e la flessibilità dimostrata rispetto alle esigenze del Cliente ma, soprattutto, il buon livello qualitativo raggiunto nei recenti interventi di manutenzione. Trattandosi di un cliente molto esigente e indipendentemente dalla crisi economica generale, la società di Genova è riuscita a far crescere il forte rapporto con Premier Power Ltd e BG Group e ad ottenere questo accordo vincente. Sono anche allo studio soluzioni di integrazione di impianti solari a concentrazione con cicli combinati, che dovrebbero consentire un sensibile abbattimento delle emissioni di questi ultimi e la generazione sul posto dei cosiddetti certificati verdi necessari per l esercizio di impianti convenzionali. Renewable sources of energy are one of the three pillars, with fossil fuels and nuclear power, of the strategic plan currently being implemented by Ansaldo Energia, making a significant contribution to revenue in the medium term and demonstrating the importance attributed by the company to this segment of the energy market for both business reasons and as a contribution to environmental sustainability. Our strategy in the sector comprises a mix of the company s own technology now under development, access to third party technology through industrial and commercial agreements, shareholdings in leading sector companies, and leveraging the engineering and EPC contractor skills gained by Ansaldo Energia in the conventional energy sector as the company s go-to-market strategy in the wind and photovoltaic power segments. In the short term we intend to realize photovoltaic and wind plant, presenting ourselves as one of the few players able not only to install a solar or wind plant, but also to act as a mediator with the world of finance, which represents the real customer for these plants, and to provide the necessary guarantees of solidity and construction capacity, drawing on the know how it has gained in the conventional thermal plant sector. On the R&D front we are developing new products to convert biomasses and refuse derived fuel (RDF) into energy, as well as technology for concentrated solar power systems, also known as thermodynamic solar solutions, which convert solar energy into electricity through a steam cycle. Also under study are solutions to integrate concentrated solar power plants with combined cycles, which should significantly reduce combined cycle emissions and generate the so-called green certificates needed to operate conventional plants.

Ansaldo è stata infatti un attore di primo piano in questo settore fin dagli anni 70 (Ansaldo-Unità Fotovoltaica), giungendo a fine anni 80 (ANIT) ad avere in esercizio la prima fabbrica europea di moduli fotovoltaici ed una importante unità produttiva per la realizzazione di generatori eolici, a fianco della mai tramontata presenza nel settore dell energia idraulica e geotermica. ANSALDO ENERGIA 26 CONCLUSIONE DEL MASTER ALTA VIA MASTER S COURSE COMPLETED Nei giorni 7 e 8 luglio si è concluso con la discussione del Project Work di fronte alla Commissione di nomina Regionale il progetto di Master Innovazione tecnologica e sviluppo prodotti per la generazione di energia. La prima sperimentazione di un Master con la formula cosiddetta Alta Via si è svolta con successo nel biennio 2007/2009. La scelta di un percorso formativo orientato alle attività di innovazione e sviluppo è nata come naturale conseguenza della riorganizzazione messa in atto alla fine del 2008 e del necessario inserimento di nuove risorse all interno dell ente di Ingegneria di Sviluppo. Come nella scorsa edizione il gruppo degli apprendisti è stato formato da persone diverse sia per titolo di studi che per provenienza: 10 liguri, 14 dalle altre regioni, 16 ingegneri, 6 fisici, 2 chimici, 19 uomini e 5 donne. Nel corso dell ultimo anno i partecipanti hanno seguito le lezioni in parallelo all attività lavorativa, con un impegno di aula di 16 ore la settimana, hanno sviluppato ore di formazione on the job, ore di studio individuale ed un project work conclusivo che ha avuto ad oggetto lo specifico progetto di sviluppo tecnologico cui si sono dedicati. La formazione d aula è stata progettata con l obiettivo specifico di fornire ai partecipanti un corpus comune di conoscenze di carattere teorico tanto più necessario alla luce dei diversi titoli di studio posseduti. Su questo si è innestato un percorso formativo individuale che, attraverso la predisposizione di un piano personalizzato, consentisse ad ogni studente di disporre delle conoscenze e competenze più adeguate per lo specifico profilo di appartenenza. Nella cornice più generale del Master, infatti, sono stati definiti quattro specifici profili: Esperto di fluidodinamica e scambio termico, Esperto di strutturistica e progettazione meccanica, Progettista di macchine elettriche ed Esperto di materiali e processi tecnologici. Le attività di aula hanno visto ancora una volta, accanto ai docenti universitari, un impegno molto significativo da parte di docenti interni, che hanno condotto la quasi totalità delle lezioni relative Out of 288 candidates with university degrees in engineering, physics, chemistry and the sciences, the selection process identified 24 students who were then hired with apprenticeship contracts on July 1st 2009. As in the previous Master programme, the course members selected had different educational and geographical backgrounds: 10 from Liguria and 14 from other regions, 16 engineers, 6 physicists, 2 chemists, 19 men and 5 women. In their final year, in addition to 16 hours a week spent in the classroom, participants also received on-the-job training, engaged in individual study periods and completed project work on a specific technology development initiative. Classroom work was designed specifically to provide all course members with a common body of theoretical knowledge, which was especially important because they held degrees in different subjects. Come elemento di eccellenza nel percorso formativo tutti gli studenti hanno avuto l opportunità di svolgere un esperienza all esterno di AEN per lo sviluppo di attività specifiche o per l acquisizione di particolari competenze. In many cases these week-long internships took place abroad at research centres and universities, or at Ansaldo Energia technology partners or subsidiaries. This added value to students projects and further enhanced awareness of their chosen products and technological processes.
ANSALDO ENERGIA 28 AEN permettendo agli studenti di aggiungere valore ai progetti sviluppati e di approfondire ed ampliare ulteriormente la propria visuale sul prodotto e sui processi tecnologici su cui operano. Anche l apprendimento dei contenuti di aula è stato verificato con modalità sperimentali vale a dire attraverso la redazione di una relazione a contenuto libero al termine di ogni modulo formativo, nella quale gli studenti hanno descritto i contenuti che relativamente a ciascun modulo avessero meglio compreso. Questa scelta ha portato ogni studente a redigere circa 50 relazioni, con un notevolissimo sforzo ed impegno di tempo che è andato ad aggiungersi a quello lavorativo, di studio e di aula. Parallelamente uno sforzo significativo è stato chiesto ai colleghi che a valle della lezione in aula hanno dovuto correggere le relazioni, ma è stato possibile ottenere un miglior risultato in termini di comprensione degli argomenti rispetto a quanto accade con le verifiche tradizionali a quiz o a domande. Ciascuno ha dovuto mettere in gioco energia e determinazione nell ottica, sottolineata da Andrea Del Chicca Direttore Risorse Umane, intervenuto a salutare gli studenti, di una tensione al miglioramento ed all apprendimento di competenze tecniche e trasversali. Ad un percorso articolato ed impegnativo è corrisposto un ottimo risultato: il Master si è concluso con il riconoscimento di sei voti pari a 110/110 e di sei 110 e lode/110 e tutti gli studenti hano avuto voti superiori a 103/110. Il Sistema, che coinvolge tutto il personale di Ansaldo Energia, oltre In 2010 Ansaldo Energia introduced the Collaborator Management System (SGC), a tool the company intends to use to increase the awareness of its managers about the importance of establishing relationships with collaborators and about their people management role. The system, which involves all Ansaldo Energia human resources, acts as a support tool for managers and aims to encourage communication between them and their collaborators by planning periodic interviews. In more detail, at the start of the year managers share the company s targets with their collaborators and the functions the latter will be performing, as well as identifying their activities and priorities for the current year. During the year meetings are scheduled to check up on the progress of these activities and at the end of the year managers give their collaborators feedback on the results obtained and plan any improvement action needed. The process transfers responsibility to human resources and engages with them directly, as well as enhancing their value by promoting a shared style of collaborator management. L amplissimo spettro di competenze necessarie ed i notevolissimi investimenti in attrezzature di laboratorio ed impianti sperimentali per il testing integrato delle innovazioni a livello di componenti ed impianti, rendono assolutamente sconsigliabile un approccio basato unicamente sull utilizzo di competenze e risorse interne all organizzazione, sia per i costi che per il rispetto del time to market. The term Open innovation, with its current meaning, was coined by Henry Chesbrough, who in 2003 set up the Centre for Open Innovation at the University of Berkeley Business School. He holds the view that ( ) businesses can and must draw on both external and internal ideas, and access the market through both internal and external routes, if they want their technology skills to progress, or in other words, good ideas don t only come from large corporate R&D units, but from hundreds of thousands of small, highly creative centres throughout the world. Open innovation was created to satisfy the special needs of various world-leading consumer goods companies with a reputation for their focus on new product planning and development. For many of these companies, Open Innovation has become the main source of research and the main way of establishing collaborative innovation and development projects, giving a significant boost to their ability to innovate. La modalità di fruizione dei corsi su chiavetta era transitoria e rispondeva a criteri di disponibilità della consultazione degli stessi. La piattaforma, realizzata dalla Funzione SYS in collaborazione con gli enti di Business coinvolti, offre un collegamento sia dall esterno della rete Ansaldo Energia che all interno della rete ed offre la possibilità di consultare i moduli wbt (web based training) di formazione prodotto e le sezioni relative al Portfolio il cui dettaglio è contenuto nel presente articolo alla voce Portfolio. Con l attivazione di tale sezione si concretizza l obiettivo di fornire alla forza vendita, ed ai proposal, uno strumento unico, di facile consultazione, contenente informazioni certificate. 35 POWER GENERATION NEWS 2/2010 ANSALDO ENERGIA TRA I CAMPIONI E LA SOLIDARIETÀ ANSALDO ENERGIA, SPORTING CHAMPIONS AND SOLIDARITY Da undici anni celebra i campioni di Genoa e Samp, gli sportivi liguri dell anno e le giovani promesse del nostro movimento sportivo. È il Galà delle Stelle, una serata speciale che ha visto sfilare tutti i vincitori dell 11 a edizione del popolare referendum Stelle nello Sport, promosso dall Agenzia LiguriaSport.com sotto l egida del Coni Liguria/Genova e dell Ansmes. Due giornate di sport, emozioni, spettacolo e solidarietà all interno di Genova in Festa tra il Porto Antico e Piazza De Ferrari. Venerdì 21 e sabato 22 maggio sono andate in scena l 11 a edizione del Galà dello Sport e la 2 a Notte Magica dello Sport. Una grande vetrina per numerose discipline e società sportive liguri che verranno nuovamente celebrate e valorizzate in contesti di prestigio assoluto, alla presenza di campioni dello sport nazionale e mondiale, capaci di scrivere alcune tra le migliori pagine della nostra storia olimpica. For eleven years now the Galà delle Stelle (Stars in Sport Gala) has been celebrating the champion football players in the Genoa and Sampdoria teams, athletes of the year from Liguria and upcoming new talents from the area. This year s special evening event shone the spotlight on all the winners of the 11th edition, as chosen by popular vote in the Stelle nello Sport (Stars in Sport) referendum promoted by Agenzia LiguriaSport.com and with the backing of Coni Liguria/Genova and Ansmes. Two days of sport, emotion, spectacle and solidarity as part of Genova in Festa (The Genoa Festival), organised in the area between the Porto Antico (Old Port) and Piazza de Ferrari on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 May to present the eleventh Galà dello Sport and the second Notte Magica dello Sport (Magical Night of Sport). These two events represent a grand showcase for the many sports practiced in Liguria and Proprio per la sua presenza e il suo legame con il territorio ligure, e genovese in particolare, Ansaldo Energia ha deciso di sostenere questa manifestazione che premia le eccellenze dello sport ligure. In particolare, ha premiato la Società Sportiva dell Anno con il Trofeo Ansaldo Energia, dedicato alle società dilettantistiche liguri di ogni disciplina e livello. Il 2010 è stato l anno dell Igo Carige Volley (10.576 voti) seguita a ruota da Albaro Volley (9.009), NBA Zena (7.837), Scuola Taekwondo Genova (6.399), Argus (4.624), Genoa Bike (4.391), Karate Club Savona (4.244), Nuotatori Genovesi (3.841), Auxilium (3.753) e US Locatelli (3.736). È stata la degna conclusione di una grande stagione sportiva ha tenuto a sottolineare Michele Corti, presidente del Gruppo Ligure Giornalisti Sportivi e ideatore del progetto Stelle nello Sport e insieme al Coni e al movimento sportivo abbiamo celebrato al meglio campioni e promesse che hanno griffato un annata indimenticabile. Voglio ringraziare come sempre chi ci ha sostenuto, trasformando in realtà tre mesi di gioco, eventi, approfondimenti e incontri. Specifically, the company pays tribute to the Sports Club of the Year by presenting it with the Ansaldo Energia Trophy, an award for amateur sports clubs in Liguria of all types and at all levels. Sporting champions from throughout Italy took part in a charity marathon and the enthusiastic local population made some important donations to support the new Genova Albaro Hospice project for the sufferers of amyotrophic lateral schlerosis, which received its official opening by the charitable association chaired by Prof. Franco Henriquet. Sport and solidarity make a winning team, said Province of Genoa President Alessandro Repetto and Counsellor for Sport Giulio Torti. And the Province is pleased to support a project like Stelle nello Sport, which rewards athletes from Genoa and Liguria, showcases young talents and a broad range of sporting disciplines, supports sports clubs and promotes the image of sport, enhancing its values through meetings, conferences and events like the Galà delle Stelle and the Notte Magica dello Sport. And all in aid of charity, in the form of the Gigi Ghirotti Association for the last 11 years, which is worthy of our support and cooperation to help it continue the extraordinary work it does in the region for the benefit of those who are most in need.
