Lesson 1 Gli Gnocchi Date N of students AIM OF THE LESSON: for the students to familiarise themselves with the language of cooking The following activities are based on "Communicative method" which encourages students to learn the four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) in an active and enjoyable way. 1) activity - Cuoco smemorato - (15-20 min) skills: reading and writing (variation speaking) Teacher print pag 3 for each student. Pag 4 has to be printed as well in 5/6 copies and the teacher sticks the pages (method) around the class walls. To complete their recipe students have to stand up from their desk, find the closest page 4, read the first line, remember as much as they can, then come back to the table and write it down on their gaps. At the end of the activity the teacher encourage the students to check their spelling at the smartboard for ex. Variation: students work in pair, firs student stands up, finds page 3, reads and remembers and then dictates to his partner the firs line; they swap after every step. 2) activity - Tombola - (15 min) skills: listening, reading and speaking Teacher print pag 3 for each student. Then print only once from pag 5 to pag 15. If we have a smartboard we don't need to print these cards. Every students needs 10 counters, one for every picture of the recipe page. Before the game begans the teacher tell the students to cover on their recipe page three pictures of the ingredients. We are ready to play tombola!!! (bingo) Teacher call the first card, all the students repeat and then the teacher shows the card to the students. Students put one counter on the recipe card and so on until they have no more pictures to cover on their card is completed and a student says TOMBOLA. The student that win can have a go now in calling the cards. 3) activity - Knots and crosses - (15 min) skills: listening, writing and speaking Teacher print pag 16 for each student. Every students needs to copy the words on the gaps and then receive 5 counters of one colour. Now is ready to find a partner. After deciding who starts first student A put the counter on one of the pictures and says reads the word laud. Student B now has a turn and son on until the game is over
