1 Newsletter n 36 - June Dear Parents, Despite the extreme hot temperatures last Friday, we were able to enjoy a fantastic edition of our Sports Day! Thank you students for making our day so much fun! It was a great pleasure to see so many parents participate in such a lively school event. We still have several events planned before the end of school and several trips for our students. Don t forget to read the «AGENDA» in the newsletter for all the dates. Please also note the definite calendar for at the end of the newsletter has been updated with finalized early dismissal days for planning afternoons. We wish you a great start to the week and keep on reading to avoid missing out on important information & events. Gentili Genitori, Nonostante le temperature estreme dello scorso venerdì, è stata un fantastica edizione dello Sports Day! Grazie studenti per aver reso così divertente la giornata! È stato molto bello vedere così tanti genitori partecipare in questo vivace evento scolastico. Abbiamo ancora svariati eventi in programma prima della fine dell anno scolastico e tante gite per i ns. studenti. Ricordatevi di consultare l AGENDA nella newsletter per tutte le date. Prendete nota il calendario definitivo alla fine della newsletter è stato aggiornato con le date finali delle uscite anticipate per i pomeriggi di programmazione didattica. 2 NEW INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF EUROPE VIDEO NEW ISE VIDEO COMMUNICATION AVAILABLE ON OUR GROUP HOMEPAGE Thanks to the creative energies of the ISE Communications Team, we are proud to share a new promotional video on our ISE Group website ( This is the result of a widespread and collaborative effort involving Communications and Educational teams in school working with a professional production company that spent one whole day filming in a variety of settings that reflect the stimulating atmosphere for learning that characterizes ISM and all ISE schools. Take a look at it for yourself and share it with your friends we hope that it distills the values of the school into a format and a message that we can all identify with. Dear Parents, We kindly remind you that uniforms for the next school year need to be purchased online on our uniform supplier website. Please visit and register and insert the IS Modena code which is for a fast registration. If you want your order to be ready by the beginning of the next school year, be sure to place before June 30 th! You can find size samples in school to order the correct size for your children. We kindly inform prospective Grade 10 students that they will have to wear the white and navy blue uniform. A few items are still available to be purchased in school. If you wish to get them before they are gone, please ask Ms Elisa in the office. Potete trovare i campioni delle taglie a scuola per ordinare quella adatta a vostro figlio. Informiamo gli studenti che il prossimo anno frequenteranno Grade 10 che dovranno indossare la divisa bianca e blu navy. Alcuni capi sono ancora disponibili per l acquisto a scuola. 3 STUDENT COUNCIL & ISM SPONSORED RUN Dear parents, To assist CEFA in raising money for young girls scholarships in Guatemala, the Student Council has decided to hold a Sponsored Run at 8:30 on Monday the 22 nd of June (at the beginning of the school day). Participating students will run laps around the playground for a maximum duration of 30 minutes, with the Student Council keeping track of how many laps they complete. If your child wants to participate, we encourage you to support them by selecting a small sum of money of your choice that will be paid for each lap they complete (e.g. 0.10). To facilitate this, we have prepared some Sponsorship Cards which you or your child may pick up from the entrance this week, which you can keep and use to register how much money each family member will be sponsoring. Finally, to sign-up for the Sponsored Run, your child can add their name to the list of participants in the entrance before Friday the 12th of June At the end of the event, the Student Council will distribute a certificate indicating how many laps have been run; based on this you may send the money with the children to school by Wednesday, June 24 th. Thank you for your co-operation, The Student Council Gentili genitori, Per assistere CEFA nel loro progetto di raccogliere fondi per le borse di studio per giovani ragazze in Guatemala, il Consiglio Studentesco ha deciso di tenere una Corsa Sponsorizzata, lunedì 22 giugno alle 8:30, durante la prima parte della giornata scolastica. Gli studenti che scelgono di partecipare correranno intorno al cortile della scuola per una durata massima di 30 minuti, mentre il Consiglio Studentesco terrà conto di quanti giri sono statti corsi. Se Vostro figlio/a desidera partecipare, Vi incoraggiamo di sostenerli donando una somma piccola a Vostra scelta per ogni giro di corsa, per esempio 0,10. Per agevolare questo, abbiamo preparato delle Carte di Sponsorizzazione che potete prelevare all entrata della scuola questa settimana e che potrete tenere per segnare quanto ogni membro della famiglia sponsorizzerà. Finalmente, per iscriversi alla corsa, Vostro figlio potrà aggiungere il suo nome alla lista di partecipanti entro venerdì 12 giugno Alla fine dell evento, il Consiglio Studentesco distribuirà un certificato specificando quanti giri sono stati corsi; a secondo di questo potrete inviare i soldi a scuola con i ragazzi entro mercoledì 24 giugno. 5 Reminders heat wave alert SCHOOL UNIFORM & THE SUN - THE HEAT HAS ARRIVED! Please remember: to put sun cream on your children or give them some to keep at school and make sure they have a hat. Students can wear the new summer uniform or our white PE shirt instead of the blue shirt on hot days. Also please ensure that your children are wearing appropriate shoes (flip-flops/thongs can be dangerous when moving around the school). Shorts: students can wear shorts to school during the hot weather but they should be dark/blue. Shorts should also be of an appropriate length (mid-thigh), even with leggings underneath. Hot pants (beach shorts) are not appropriate in the school setting. Trousers with holes and/or ripped jeans are not allowed in school. UNIFORME SCOLASTICA & SOLE IL CALDO E ARRIVATO! Ricordatevi di applicare la crema solare ai vostri figli o di darne loro una confezione da portare a scuola e assicuratevi che abbiano con sé un cappellino. Gli studenti possono indossare la nuova uniforme estiva oppure la nostra t-shirt bianca da ginnastica invece della classica polo blu nei giorni più caldi. Fate anche in modo che i bambini indossino scarpe adatte (le infradito non sono adatte e possono essere pericolose quando camminano in giro per la scuola). Shorts: gli studenti possono indossare pantaloncini corti quando fa caldo, a patto che siano blu o neri. Inoltre i pantaloncini devono essere di lunghezza appropriata (a metà coscia) anche se indossati sui leggings. Gli hot pants (pantalonicini da mare)non sono indumenti appropriati per scuola. I pantaloni con buchi e/o jeans strappati non sono ammessi a scuola.

7 REMINDERS PLEASE ENSURE ALL ITEMS ARE LABELLED WITH YOUR CHILD S NAME Except for the very young children, we expect the students to keep track of their own belongings. Please discuss this with them. If your child arrives home with clothing or something else that belongs to another student, please return it to school the next day. A lost property (Lost & Found Box) is located in the storage room near the Auditorium, feel free to check it for missing items and please keep it tidy. Gli oggetti smarriti (Scatola degli Oggetti Smarriti) si trovano nel ripostiglio vicino all Auditorium, controllate liberamente e mantenetelo in ordine. PARKING AREA All parents must use the public parking area outside the school gate at all times. Please remember to lock your cars and please make sure you don t leave any personal belongings in the car. Internal parking area is reserved for staff only and the bus service. PARCHEGGIO ESTERNO Tutti i genitori devono utilizzare sempre il parcheggio all esterno del cancello. Ricordatevi di chiudere le portiere dell auto e non lasciate borse e borsette in macchina. Il parcheggio interno è riservato allo staff e ai bus scolastici.
