PREFAZIONE Ciao! Quando tornerai a scuola, mostra il tuo lavoro all insegnante! 3

We stayed in a hotel near the beach. The food was fantastic and the weather was wonderful: it was an amazing holiday! We had breakfast early in the morning, then we went to the beach, took a bath and played volleyball. Then we had lunch, we stayed in the rooms for a couple of hours and then went again to the beach. After dinner we went in the centre of the city. In the first evening we went shopping!! I bought: a blue hood and a white dress with a layered lace skirt. We visited also a haunted castle, we went to Mirabilandia and did a night cruise to watch the stars. The castle real name is Castle Of Montebello but everyone calls it Azzurrina s castle because it s haunted by Azzurrina s ghost. She was a seven years old girl with bluish hair. One day she was playing with her ball in one of the castle corridors when it fell down in the dungeon through a stairway. She went down to try and find it, but she never came back. Now every summer solstice (the day she disappeared) strange sounds are heard in the castle. The visit was exciting!!! Two days later we went to Mirabilandia: I went on all the rides, even the scariest ones! They were very exciting!! The day was fantastic. Finally, we went on a night cruise to see the stars. The guide told us about the solar system, it was very interesting! After a week we returned home. It was a fantastic holiday!! I hope to have other holidays as awesome as this! 15

Leggi il brano ad alta voce Last summer I went to Greece with my family. We visited an interesting place every day and this was good, because every place has its history and its culture. Our steps were Santorini, Athens and Corfu. Santorini is a volcanic island and it's part of the Cyclades islands. The centre of the city is located in the highest point of the Island, and everywhere in Greece there are white buildings, because this colour reflects the sun's light. The city has small streets and pretty shops, and it's lovely. In Athens we visited some ancient temples with a guide. They are part of an important cultural heritage. Athens is the capital of the country and the legend says that it was given to Greece by the goddess Athena as a gift. Our last visit in Greece was Corfu. This is one of the most visited destinations for its clean sea and its green parks. In the city there are shops and stalls were we could find typical products. We walked around the centre and we bought lots of things as a souvenir of this marvellous journey, and we were very happy. I liked this journey very much, because I saw lots of beautiful cities and I learnt about a new culture so different from ours. 24

During the holiday, we took part in a dance competition and other funny activities. There were almost 350 young people from European countries like Norway, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Greece, etc. What I liked most, was when we danced and praised our God, early in the morning. The last night we had a disco party, we dressed up in the 1990's style and we danced all night. We were tired the next day, but we had to leave. Fortunately, we could stay one more day in Vienna and we could walk around the city. Vienna is so beautiful, especially in Schönbrunn, where we bought some souvenirs and sweets.
