Lo scenario globale I temi chiave Quadro macro: Segnali diffusi di decelerazione della crescita a livello globale. Gli Stati Uniti dovrebbero mostrare una crescita annua non superiore all 1.5% anche nel corso del 2012. Eurozona dovrebbe scendere sotto dall 1% dopo il 1.6% di quest anno. Banche centrali: Tassi ufficiali ancora fermi nei Paesi del G-10 nel corso del 2012, mentre si ritorna/si prosegue con mosse non convenzionali (easing quantitativo / acquisto di titoli a lunga). Rialzo dei tassi rinviato al 2013. Tassi d interesse: Le pressioni sulle autorità europee per trovare una soluzione stanno crescendo e quindi esiste il rischio di un significativo aumento dei rendimenti a lunga tedeschi, specie sulle scadenze più lontane. Probabile, invece, un nuovo appiattimento (flattening) della curva americana, specie sulle scadenze più lunghe, dopo le recenti mosse della Fed ed in vista di un possibile nuovo giro di politica monetaria espansiva (quantitative easing n. 3). Cambi: Tutte le principali economie stanno soffrendo contemporaneamente degli stessi sintomi (bassa crescita, ampi disavanzi e alti debiti); il che spinge le banche centrali a restare ferme sui tassi e ad adottare misure eterodosse di espansione monetaria. In questa fase, i cambi rimangono un semplice gioco di volatilità senza trend definiti e si muovono in una pura logica di rischio relativo (risk-on / risk-off) attraverso il canale dei mercati azionari. Il che rende perversamente lo scenario più incerto (volatile) a breve (3-6M mesi) che a lungo (9-12 mesi). Est Europa: Decelerazione della crescita in atto in linea con lo scenario globale e solo graduale ripresa nel corso del 2012. Rischi di contrazione secca non molto probabili (miglioramento squilibri di parte corrente; bassa inflazione che aiuta il potere d acquisto delle famiglie; consolidamento fiscale già realizzato in gran parte dei singoli Paesi). Materie prime: Nonostante i segnali di rallentamento del ciclo globale, i prezzi delle materie prime non dovrebbero essere esposti a violente ricadute, come durante la crisi di Lehman Bros. I metalli preziosi possono subire maggiori flessioni, in parte compensate tuttavia - dalla domanda dei Paesi emergenti e dai limiti nell offerta. 2

Il problema chiave resta sempre il mercato del lavoro, ancora debole nonostante i dati di settembre. Eurozona: La ripresa europea dovrebbe arrestarsi a fine anno a causa del rallentamento globale e delle tensioni sui mercati della Periferia, con rischi di un PIL negativo già nel quarto trimestre. Crescita intorno al 1.6% per il 2011 ed inferiore all 1% nel corso del 2012. Germania: PIL in rallentamento all 1.2% nel 2012 dopo il 3% del 2011; Francia: crescita a 1.6% nel 2011 e 1.1% nel 2012; Italia: PIL a 0.6% quest anno e a 0.4% nel 2012; Spagna: crescita a 0.7% nel 2011 e 0.5% nel 2012. Inghilterra: Calo significato anche della crescita britannica a 1% nel 2011 e 1.7% nel 2012. 3

Rialzo tassi solo nel 2013 Svizzera: Graduali rialzi dei tassi attesi solo nella seconda parte del 2012 verso lo 0.50%. Paesi Nordici: Svezia e Norvegia ferme agli attuali livelli di tasso a 2.00% e 2.25% per gran parte del 2012. Canada & Pacifico: Possibile taglio dei tassi in Australia dall attuale 4.75%; stabilità in Canada (1%) e NZ (2.50%) 4

Ciononostante, le pressioni sulle autorità europee per trovare una soluzione stanno crescendo (esito del vertice EU in corso/g-20 a Cannes il prossimo 3-4 Novembre). Esiste quindi il rischio di un significativo aumento dei rendimenti a lunga tedeschi nel tempo, specie sulle scadenze più lontane (Bund 10 anni verso 3.20% nella seconda metà del 2012 rispetto all attuale 2.70%, a fronte di minori pressioni sulla Periferia). Stati Uniti: Con la Fed destinata a mantenere un orientamento espansivo almeno fino ad metà 2013, i rendimenti dovrebbero restare intorno agli attuali livelli ultra ridotti anche nel corso del quarto trimestre. L operation twist della Fed dovrebbe favorire un ulteriore appiattimento (flattening) della curva americana, specie sulle scadenze più lunghe, anche in vista di un possibile nuovo giro di politica monetaria espansiva (quantitative easing n. 3). 5

CHF: Margini di recupero di EUR-CHF oltre 1.30. USD-CHF stabilmente intorno all orbita di quota 0.90. GBP: Anche la sterlina si muove in una logica risk-on/risk-off e non soffre più di tanto le nuove mosse espansive della Banca d Inghilterra. GBP-USD in rialzo verso 1.60/1.65 nel 2012. EUR-GBP sempre tra 0.85 e 0.92, a causa dell andamento parallelo di EUR-USD e GBP-USD. Monete Nordiche: EUR-SEK ed EUR-NOK in calo nel 2012 sotto 9.00 e 7.60, ma ancora molto volatili a breve. Tre dollari: AUD-USD e NZD-USD ancora volatili a breve, ma in rialzo nel 2012 rispettivamente verso 1.08 e 0.85 e in un quadro di minore incertezza. USD-CAD destinato a rientrare sotto la parità. 6

Tassi di interesse: Tassi fermi per gran parte dei Paesi dell area, ma con orientamento espansivo che potrebbe spingere a nuove riduzioni del costo del denaro. Unica eccezione l Ungheria, in cui i tassi dovrebbero di nuovo salire. Tassi di cambio: La Corona ceca (CZK) dovrebbe beneficiare del suo ruolo di moneta rifugio nell area, mentre la lira turca (TRY) dovrebbe restare quella a più margini di apprezzamento in prospettiva. Da preferire lo zlothy polacco (PLN) rispetto al fiorino ungherese (HUF). Neutrali, invece, su rublo (RUB) e leu romeno (RON). 7

I metalli preziosi possono subire maggiori flessioni, in parte compensate però - dalla perdurante domanda dei Paesi emergenti, dalla ricerca di porti sicuri e dai limiti nell offerta. Petrolio: Nonostante i fattori di cautela, il 2012 dovrebbe vedere ancora tonico il prezzo del greggio grazie alla domanda proveniente dai mercati emergenti. Il riemergere della produzione libica dovrebbe favorire una ripresa della produzione libera dell OPEC più che un aumento netto dell offerta globale, a causa del probabile calo della produzione saudita. Brent di nuovo verso 120 e WTI verso quota 100 per fine 2012. Oro: La sua caratteristica di bene rifugio rende prevedibile un ritorno verso verso 1750/1800 per fine 2012 8
