Implantable gastric bypass (I-GBY): Treatment concept and specific features The goal of the research and development is an endoscopic gastric bypass operation, which is significantly less invasive, safer, adjustable to the needs of the patient, and entirely reversible. x Therapeutic efficiency of gastric bypass through scalable implant solution Endoscopy of stomach possible after procedure No dissection or division of stomach, no Roux-Y Fewer side-effects through residual food passage Implant removable / exchangeable via gastroscopy Improved durability of therapeutic effect Minimal alteration to anatomy, (no Roux-Y anastomosis) Entirely reversible *Braun-anastomosis * Quick and easy operative procedure Therapeutic effect adjustable by gastroscopy Fewer wounds / less surgical trauma For patients who fear lifelong bypass and who want to control their therapy Scheme drawing of the operative result (Micro-lap I-GBY)
Implantable gastric bypass (I-GBY): Status of research and development (4) Due to adaptation of the implants to the tissue and anatomical condition further animal trials were performed. Potential refinements of implant shape, material properties and implantation procedure were detected.
