Grammar will be part of English lessons as it will give them a basis for developing their language in either of the four language areas. The rest of the day can be used to explore newly learned language laws while interacting with other students. Staging a Socratic Seminar is one method to practice the language skills. Special Activities: Buddies, Talent Show, Socratic Seminar, Final Summer School Show. AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM (3:00 5:00) Would you like to spend some more quality time with your peers, new friends on our beautiful campus? This year we offer the possibility to extend on a weekly basis the Summer School time to 5:00 pm. Our enthusiastic team will ensure that your children are in the best hands. Please note that the minimum number of children required to run the is 5 students. The cost for the After School will be 90 per week. WHAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW WHAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW The ISG Summer School is a that runs from June 29th to July 24th from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Students may choose between the half day (8:30 to 12:30), full day (8:30 to 3:00) or extended full day (8:30-5:00) program. Students may also between the 2, 3 or 4 week program. The student must be 3 years of age, (exceptions are made for children enrolled in our regular Preschool), and cannot be over 14 years of age. A healthy lunch is, provided to full and part-time students in our the cafeteria. Lunches are cooked on site. A private shuttle service is available from Genova- Sampierdarena to Nervi at an extra cost. All students must be registered by May 29th, 2015. COSA I GENITORI DEVONO SAPERE La Summer School di ISG è un programma di 4 settimane che inizia il 29 giugno e termina il 24 luglio, dal lunedì al venerdì dalle 8:30 alle 17:00. Gli studenti devono gia aver compiuto 3 anni ( sono esenti gli studenti iscritti alla al primo anno della nostra scuola per l infanzia e non avere più di 14 anni. Gli studenti potranno scegliere tra il corso part-time (8:30 12:30), a tempo pieno (8:30-15:00) oppure il tempo pieno esteso (8:30-17:00), dal lunedì al venerdì. Gli studenti possono inoltre scegliere tra il corso di 2 o 4 settimane. Tutti gli studenti (a part-time e tempo pieno) ricevono un pasto completo. I pasti sono cucinati presso il nostro istituto. E disponibile un servizio di navetta a costo aggiuntivo che copre l area tra Genova- Sampierdarena e Nervi. Tutti gli studenti devono essere iscritti entro il 29 maggio 2015. L accento per gli studenti di questo gruppo di età viene posto sullo sviluppo dell ascolto e della parola, sulle capacità di lettura e di scrittura. La grammatica sarà parte delle lezioni di inglese in quanto darà ai ragazzi le basi per sviluppare la loro capacità espressiva nelle quattro aree del linguaggio. Il resto della giornata potrà essere utilizzato per esplorare le regole della lingua appena imparata attraverso l interazione con gli altri studenti. AGE 9-12 Full Day Students will be able to express their creative minds in many ways. One of many ways is to create their own game. The teacher supports students in understanding simple concepts, such as rules on how to play a game, which can then be applied when inventing a new game. It is up to the individual s imagination and creativity how to transform simple rules into a new and exciting activity for the whole class. Students will learn vocabulary and grammar related to the theme enabling them to communicate confidently in English, the theme will come alive through dramatic play, art projects and sport activities that encourage students to have fun while learning. Further special activities will be the Water Games, the Talent Show and the Summer School Show! Gli studenti potranno esprimere la propria creatività in molti modi. Uno di questi modi sarà creare i propri giochi. Gli insegnanti aiuteranno i ragazzi a capire alcuni semplici concetti, come le regole alla base dei giochi, concetti che possono essere applicati nella creazione di nuovi giochi. Di conseguenza con un po di immaginazione gli studenti potranno trasformare delle semplici regole in giochi interessanti per tutta la classe. Gli Studenti impareranno vocaboli e grammatica relativi all argomento in modo da facilitarli nella comunicazione in inglese: i campi lessicali emergeranno dalla recitazione, dai progetti artistici e dalle attivita sportive che incoraggiano i ragazzi a divertirsi mentre imparano. The ISG Summer Campers will enjoy indoor and outdoor educational activities supported by English mother-tongue teachers: activities will be organized in classrooms, on the sports field, in the auditorium, in the gymnasium and the school gardens and with the possibility of local field trips. Each week students will work on a different theme through fun hands-on learning activities. Ogni settimana gli studenti lavoreranno su un tema diverso (units Howdy Partners Around the Campfire, That s Entertainment Party All the Time ), At this level students will be able to discuss a theme in more depth. This will make it easier for students to learn a new language as reasoning will help to make connections between words and images. Students will have the opportunity to use technology to practice their language skills online. During role play, students will learn how to apply language in real life situations, such as ordering food at a restaurant. Emphasis will be put onto speaking and applying newly gained vocabulary. In questo gruppo i ragazzi saranno in grado di discutere un tema con maggiore profondità, pertanto sarà più facile per loro imparare una nuova lingua, grazie al ragionamento che permette di fare connessioni tra parole ed immagini. I ragazzi avranno la possibilità di impiegare tecnologie e usare le capacità linguistiche online. AGE 5 7 The ISG Summer Camp supports a successful transition from Kindergarten to Elementary school, building a foundation for the English language learners to work with during their first years at school. Language can be expressed in a variety of ways: speaking is only one of them. During Physical Education, English language classes or Arts and Crafts students will learn how to express themselves through a variety of media. Special activities will include: Learning stations, water games as well as indoor and outdoor games, talent shown and Summer School Show! The number one objective for our youngest learners is to have a fun, exciting and unforgettable start into their English learning. They will be learning how to behave responsibly, treat others as they would like to be treated, and find joy in learning. We will be learning about the old wild west through songs, stories and crafts. We will plan a pretend campsite on school grounds and classrooms and learn many things about the outdoors. Students will plan and perform in their very own talent show and there will be lots of partying fun and games on the last week. Students will be active participants during their own learning, taking part in a great variety of activities. Il programma ha lo scopo di proporre un estate di divertimento e di apprendimento, in un contesto in cui fare nuovi amici, in un ambiente internazionale sicuro. L obbiettivo per i nostri giovani studenti è di avvicinarli all apprendimento dell inglese attraverso il divertimento e la scoperta. I bambini impareranno a comportarsi in modo responsabile, a interagire con gli altri e a trovare gioia nell apprendimento. Impareremo a conoscere il vecchio West attraverso canzoni, storie e progetti artistici. Pianificheremo un immaginario viaggio in campeggio che si svolgiera nelle zone verdi del nostro istituto e in aula, attraverso questo viaggio apprenderemo molto cose sul mondo che ci circonda. Gli studenti metteranno insieme un vero e proprio talent show nel quali si esibiranno. L ultima settimana sara dedicata ai festeggiamenti. Gli studenti avranno una parte attiva in classe, prendendo parte ad un gran numero di attività. AGE 3-5
