Le mie prime impressioni di vivere e lavorare in Italia Ciao a tutti! Sono molto felice di essere arrivato a Modigliana e di iniziare a lavorare e vivere in Italia. Prometto che farò di tutto e di più per appoggiare gli sforzi e gli obiettivi della Cooperativa Sociale Kara Bobowski. Prima di tutto, vorrei presentarmi e raccontarvi alcune cose della mia vita in Ungheria. Mi chiamo Istvàn Ori (il modo di scrivere il nome in ungherese è diverso da quello italiano. Noi mettiamo davanti il cognome e dopo il nome, quindi il mio nome in ungherese sarebbe: Őri István) e sono nato il 15 marzo del 1986 a Budapest, capitale dell Ungheria. Ho passato la mia infanzia e ho frequentato il liceo a Budapest dove abita più di un terzo della popolazione ungherese. La maggior parte della mia famiglia, però, viene della campagna quindi ho l opportunità di vivere in luoghi e contesti diversi. Dopo aver finito il liceo ho deciso di andarmene di casa per vedere qualcosa di nuovo e vivere nuove avventure. Per questo motivo ho scelto di andare a studiare in un altra città.
Veszprém dove studio- è una pittoresca città situata in un bel posto circondato da colline e a soltanto 15 chilometri dal Lago Balaton. È una città universitaria con circa 12.000 studenti, e la vita non si ferma mai. Studio Relazioni Internazionali presso la Facoltà di Studi Europei. Durante i miei studi ho acquisito parecchie conoscenze su diverse materie come diritto, scienze politiche, marketing, relazioni internazionali, economia, filosofia, globalizzazione, lingue e culture. Ma la mia specializzazione è Relazioni Interculturali e questo è il motivo principale per cui ho deciso di trasferirmi all estero e lavorare sul campo. Perché l Italia? Sinceramente, non c è un motivo particolare. Certamente, una delle ragioni è imparare l italiano e sono anche interessato alla cultura e alla storia italiane. Ogni estate e quasi tutto il mio tempo libero lo passo viaggiando e mi piace davvero tanto stare in giro. Sono stato tante volte in Italia e ho fatto anche arrampicata. Sto cercando, semplicemente, qualcosa di nuovo, di più bello e più emozionante. La cosa importante è avere la mente aperta ed essere predisposto ad ogni nuova esperienza. Dopo più di un mese nel quale ho vissuto in altri paesi (e non soltanto come turista), ho capito quanto questo sia importante. Ho provato quasi tutti i modi di viaggiare come, per esempio, l autostop. Secondo me è il modo migliore per conoscere gente. Così ho incontrato tante persone, siamo diventati amici e siamo ancora in contatto. Viaggiare così a volte è difficile, forse per questo alcuni pensano che sia pericoloso, ma non è così. La cosa più importante per me è semplicemente vivere, imparare sempre di più, aiutare gli altri e sicuramente ne varrà la pena. Quindi, se posso dare un consiglio è questo: non rifiutare mai un invito e prova a dare il massimo di te.
Fino adesso in Italia ho visitato tanti posti (come potete vedere nella mappa), quindi la conosco abbastanza bene. La mia prima impressione di Modigliana è molto positiva. È diversa dai paesi ungheresi. Ci sono molti posti dove andare, come ristoranti e bar che sono sempre pieni, dove le persone si danno appuntamento per parlare e raccontarsi la giornata. Il mercato del sabato nel corso principale, è un altro bell esempio di questo scambio. Sono veramente impaziente di vedere alcune delle feste che si celebrano ad autunno come La Festa del Kiwi a novembre. La gente a Modigliana è molto aperta e disponibile, secondo me, anche grazie al lavoro della Cooperativa Kara Bobowski che negli ultimi 18 anni ha organizzato tantissimi programmi di scambio e ha accolto molti giovani stranieri che hanno svolto il servizio volontario europeo qui. Sono felice di poter lavorare con un staff giovane e disponibile. Spero di sfruttare al massimo il tempo che passerò in Italia e di imparare sempre di più.

Report of my first impression to living and working in Italy Ciao a tutti! It is a pleasure and I am very happy to arrive in Modigliana and starting to work and living in Italy. I can promise that I will do everything with the best of my knowledge in order to support the efforts and purposes of The Social Co-operative "Kara Bobowski". First I would like to introduce myself and tell something about my life in Hungary. My name is István Őri (the Hungarian form of the full name is the opposite of the Italian form therefore we write the surname first and then the first name thus my name is written in Hungarian in this way: Őri István) and I was born on the 15th of March in 1986 in Budapest which is the capital city of Hungary. I spent my childhood and finished secondary school in Budapest where more than one third of the population is living (with agglomeration). But most of my family is from the countryside so I had the opportunity to spend time with relatives in completely different living circumstances. After I finished my studies in secondary school I decided to leave my hometown to see something new and to have new adventures. That was the reason I chose to move to study in another town.
Veszprém where I study is a picturesque small town in a beautiful environment surrounded by hills only 15 kilometres from the Lake Balaton. This is a university town so there are about 12000 students, which means life never stops.
My master faculty is European Studies in the discipline of international relations. During my studies I gained considerable experiences of many areas of life such as law, political science, marketing, international relations, economics, philosophy, globalization, languages, cultures, therefore I believe that my horizon coherently covers a wide spectrum of the international relations. But my speciality is intercultural relations so that was the main reason I decided to move to abroad and working in the civil society. I think the contact between the cultures is one of the most interesting field of international relations because it is needed at all levels. I mean it is impossible to make relations between countries, cultures, civilizations, regions without knowing for example intercultural communication. Why Italy? Honestly the reason is nothing special. Of course one reason is to learn the italian language and I am interested in Italian culture and history as well. Every summer and all of my free time I go off and I really like to be on the road. I have been travelling a lot in Italy due to I am climbing as well. I am just looking for something new, something much better and more beautiful and more exciting. The point is to be open-minded and to be open for everything new. After more than one month living (and not just to be a tourist) in another country I can feel how important is it. I have tried many ways of travelling like hitchhiking (autostop) as well. In my opinion there is no better option to know other people when you are hitchhiking. I got to know lots of good people and we became friends and we still keep in touch. Sometimes it was difficult what is more someone could say it was dangerous what I did, but no. The most important thing in my life is just living, knowing more and more and helping the others and it s probably worth it. So if I can give an advise for everyone could be that: never refuse an invitation and try to give as much as you can. Till that time I have visited a lot of places (as you can see on the map) in Italy, therefore I have relatively good comparison. My first impression of Modigliana is totally positive. It is different
from the municipalities in Hungary. I can see that, and it is very positive that there are a lot of places where people can spend their time together for example in restaurants and bars which are always full in the night and people talking and talking and share their thoughts and everyday experiences of life. The market on every Saturday on the main street, which is closed during the event, is also a good example for that. I am really looking forward to the festivals in the autumn, especially la Festa del Kiwi in November or Feste dell 800 which is a festival of the famous Italian realist painter Silvestro Lega who was born and living in Modigliana in the 19th century. The people in Modigliana on the base of my experiences are very open-minded and I can definitely say that is considerably thanks for the Organisation Kara Bobowski because in the last 18
years many exchange programmes took place and a lot of young people from abroad worked in Modigliana. I am very happy that I can work with a young and helpful team. My expectations of myself are to use as much as I can the time I spend here in Italy and to know more and more. Places I have visited in Italy
