Del Mondo) OBIETTIVO DEL CORSO - Apprendimento della lingua inglese a livello base - Acquisizione delle strutture grammaticali di base - Acquisizione del sistema fonologico Si farà uso di espressioni quotidiane e frasi basilari, tese a soddisfare bisogni concreti. Si favorirà l apprendimento di espressioni legate ad ambiti personali o ambiti di immediata rilevanza (per esempio informazioni personali, fare la spesa, parlare di occupazione) finalizzate all interazione a livello semplice e allo scambio di informazioni. Zavagno) L obiettivo del corso sarà quello di comprendere e riutilizzare i materiali linguistici a livello elementare, riprendendo quindi le unità del primo anno e affrontando quelle del secondo anno. Zennaro) Il corso si rivolge a coloro che già possiedono una conoscenza dell inglese a livello elementare e intendono consolidarla ed approfondirla a livello pre-intermedio. L obiettivo principale del corso è quello di sviluppare in modo efficace l abilità di comunicare. Lo studente sarà messo in grado di usare la lingua non solo in maniera grammaticalmente corretta, ma anche moderna e aderente alle situazioni reali. Zennaro) This course is designed for students who have already attended the IV (pre-intermediate) level last year, or have pre-intermediate level language skills, and wish to consolidate or practise more the speaking and listening skills. INGLESE V (T. Saccoman D. Zennaro) This course is for students intending to study English at intermediate level. Although they have already met the main functions and structures of English before, they may not necessarily use them accurately and confidently. That is why students at this level need to learn new grammar items and vocabulary but most of all they need a lot of recycling and consolidation work in more familiar areas. Vocabulary, grammar structures and language functions will be introduced and / or revised through listening and reading passages. They will also be consolidated through written and oral activities. INGLESE AVANZATO (T. Saccoman) This is a course for students at advanced level (C1 Common European Framework) who wish to maintain, consolidate and practise their language competence. Even if all four skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing) will be further developed. Attention will be paid to the oral skills of listening / comprehension and speaking through the use of techniques such as - Practice on intonation and pronunciation - Pair work and class discussions related to the topics and to the grammar structures met in the listening and reading activities of the coursebook - Vocabulary expansion The teacher will also provide authentic, real life material from different sources, including newspapers, magazines and websites as well as short literary texts: all of them will be used as a basis for discussion, text analysis and vocabulary acquisition, which will encourage students to develop and express their own opinions. INGLESE CONVERSAZIONE (S. Brodar L. Cipolato) This full immersion English conversation course with a native English-speaking teacher exposes students to the English language on a wide range of topics allowing them to absorb the rules, grammar, idiomatic and colloquial expressions as would a native growing up in an English-speaking environment. It is only through constant exposure to the language without translation but with English explanations that a student can learn to apply a foreign language naturally. Listening, watching and reading in English are the first steps to improving a student s speaking skills. The aim of the course is to help students achieve a greater fluency and familiarity with the spoken language allowing them to communicate clearly and more effectively. As there are several students who repeat this course year after year as a way of staying in constant practice with their spoken English, the content of the course varies from one year to the next. Therefore, a different monograph is used each year as a starting point for our conversations. TEATRO IN INGLESE (A.Vinci) As a qualified and professional actress and English teacher I have gained a huge amount of knowledge and experience in both sectors and therefore I am able to give the students something fun, exciting, useful, informative, new and inspiring to experience every week. I have had years of experience as an actress and studied theatre at school, college, university and then went on to attend one of the most accredited drama academy schools in London. I have also had a huge amount of experience in teaching English through the use of theatre. Throughout my classes the students will be learning about and practising the work of different theatre practitioners, some of which they have previously looked at and some new, for example Stanislavski but looking at acting techniques not only from the method, but also from the system. The particular elements that the students will practise will be The magic what If, motivation, objectives and emotional memory. I will also be getting the students to look at other theatre practitioners techniques, for example, Uta Hagen and Meisner. Having studied the different methods and techniques from theatre practitioners the students will be able to implement some of the strategies/techniques they have learnt. The students will be working heavily on improvisation skills through various exercises/scenes which I will be introducing them to. I have a huge knowledge of improvisation exercises aimed at different genres of theatre, e.g. comedy, drama, tragedy, etc. Character work is obviously a fundamental aspect when working on improvisation, scenes and plays so the students will also be taught the basic elements of forming a character in terms of speech, movement, personality and emotion. I will also work on the five senses with the students as this helps with improvisation, relaxing and fundamentally towards character work and getting to know the body. The five senses are sight, hearing, taste, smell, touch and with these five senses I will be introducing the sense memory exercise again a technique from Method acting. The students will be working towards presenting/performing scenes from a variation of plays and playwrights. For example perhaps works from classical playwrights such as Shakespeare, and perhaps early playwrights such as Edward Bond, John Osborne, Harold Pinter and Alan Bennett and modern playwrights, for example, Shelagh Stephenson. I also want to perhaps do some work on film scripts as well as theatre just to show the difference between theatre and film in terms of style of writing, language and acting. Whilst working on improvisations, scripts, scenes, etc, I will obviously naturally be correcting the students grammar, introducing new lexis, correcting and working on pronunciation periodically throughout the duration of the course. Other extremely useful skills that will be worked on in my lessons will be reading skills, communication skills (to help with improvisation and therefore also looking at situational and functional language). The use of video will also be incorporated from time to time to help practise listening skills and communication skills. And writing skills will be incorporated where the students will get to write their own scenes/scripts and present them. So fundamentally the course will be designed to look at some magnificent playwrights, plays and theatre practitioners implementing playwright s techniques and methods when acting within improvisation, working on scene work from different plays/playwrights, scripts. And of course to work on the essential basics of acting, getting in touch with the five senses, the body and performing.
